About this listen

Even a beast can be beautiful....

Bella has lived her whole life in the little town of Paris, Vermont. Her family's restaurant, the Rose Garden Diner, has been a point of pride...until they're forced to sell it. Unfortunately, the diner's buyer is Andrew, a cruel bully, and when he fires Bella's friend for stealing food scraps, Bella's had it up to here.

But Bella's fierce loyalty hasn't gone unnoticed. Every day, a mysterious woman comes to the diner for lunch. Mel Grim enchants Bella, and when Grim makes her an offer she can't refuse, Bella goes to work for her.

But it seems that everyone in Paris has their secrets, and Grim's secret might be the strangest one of all. Is their love strong enough to overcome the truth? Or are they destined for an unhappily ever after?

Wow!!!

I can't stop listening. I try to pause the reading but I have to know what's next. I LOVE romance novels and even better with werewolves and/or vampires.

Pretty Good

Lesbian werewolf, always a yes. Although this whole thing feels like the start to a book rather than an entire book, if that makes sense? I spent most of it wondering how all of my questions were going to get answered in such little time. They did, I just wished there were more. But the writing was fun and the narrator was FANTASTIC. She brought out a lot of the personality! Both main characters are genuinely good people who care about helping others. The romance was alright, but like I said I wish there was more.

LOVE IT, LOVE IT

Love the story. Loved the narrating. I couldn't stop listening. Great book! It's great when you find a narrator that dies the story justice. I've just recently started listening to books by Bridget Essex and this my 3rd book in about a week. definitely highly recommend this book!

meh

narrator was great. I could tell who was who by the different voices. Story was meh if they build more on the characters then the story wouldn't been good not sure about great. Romance felt off like the story needed them to get together. The "big reveal"...... spoiler........ when she finally found out the secret was lackluster. After it happened felt like the MC brushed it off joking around somewhat. grim was really troubled trying to avoid the truth to what she is so when it happened. the reaction was meh. basically the story should've been longer to build on the characters.

Not bad

The story is about what you'd expect from the title, so no issue with it being predictable, it's what I came looking for. The writing style is very longwinded though, main character will go on tangents and tell childhood stories for a while, which really messes with the pacing.

Ultimately, not bad, but kinda grating when you want to know what's happening in a scene and it feels like the protagonist is standing there reminiscing for way too long.
