About this listen

Dismissed from the university where she served as professor of romantic languages, Dr. Molly Whitcomb travels west to start over in the secluded mountain town of Timber Ridge, Colorado, where she'll be teaching children. Her train stops in Denver, and on a whim, Molly purchases a wedding band - an attempt to cover a mistake, but also a chance at a fresh start.

Sheriff James McPherson was eager to hire a schoolteacher, but Dr. Whitcomb isn't what he expected. His instincts about people - which rarely miss the mark - tell him she's hiding something. And when Molly's secret is revealed, her reinvented life begins to unravel. What's more, she risks losing her new-found relationship with the sheriff and her renewed faith in God.

One for thought

This series has subject matter that really resonates. This particular tale reminds us that whilst lying may save us in the moment, the truth will always out. One lie leads to another, then shame & loss of trust. But, God! The authors note at the end was a great reminder of how God is always waiting for us to come back.

Beyond this Moment

A story that as Tamara says at the end many of us have been through. Not what our heroine went through but a moment we wish we had a do over. A poignant story of forgiving ones self and finding peace and love

Enjoyable with reservations

Good character and plot development and an overall enjoyable story, but more spiritual references than I am comfortable with. I downloaded other books by this author at the same time and am slowly working my way through them but will avoid future purchases for this reason. If you are comfortable with a spiitual context and the implications this has on plot and character development then the book is an enjoyable listen.
