Great narration and long play time.
Characters who grow to demonstrate bravery, concern for others, doing the right thing, eschewing pride, and learning the freedom of forgiveness and the dangers of bitterness and envy. Very satisfying storytelling!

Excellent Stories!

I was not that interested in Snow's story because not much was written about her in the first books but I loved Gabe's and Adelaide and Teddy and Isla's. It's the first little mermaid retelling that I actually liked. It was also my favorite out of this box set.

Good and great

I had a range of individual ratings for the three books encapsulated in this one volume, a good value for one credit. The narration is excellent, though I had to raise the volume above normal.

A Dream of Ebony and White: This was far and away my favorite of the three. A marvelous fairy tell re-imagining, engaging and beautifully plotted. The main character, Snow, is shone growing more mature in multiple ways, delaying with a multi-faceted series of obstacles and happy chances. The supporting cast is beautifully developed, as well, Very engaging! I have read many re-retellings in the past decade or more, and this is one of the best, from a pool of remarkable writings.

A Captive of Wing and Feather: A good entry in the series but not nearly as engaging, for me, as others, including the one just before. I never warmed to or was convinced by the attraction to the main character's "love interest" and never fully understood the villain. The overall problem was that I was not as engaged in the story as I normally am of Melanie Cellier's well-plotted and written stories. I don't think I will reread this later on, but should I do so, would likely raise the number of stars. Very good title.

A Princess of Wind and Wave: The aspect of this book I enjoyed the most was the fixation on a "dream love", letting an unusual, romantic encounter dominate your thoughts and influencing your life. The author did an excellent job showing that (through Teddy, who otherwise did not interest me). I thought many in the supporting cast were the best written, such as Ray and Millie. I was not keen on the father. At any rate, it's a good book, just not highly appealing to me, though I see it is much loved by many. I don't recall reading a re-telling of The Little Mermaid before, excluding a vaguely related one by Mercedes Lackey. I've never been a fan of The Little Mermaid, so that may have been part of the problem. The author is an excellent writer, and I enjoy her books.

Excellent value for one credit, strong writing

Some of the stories made sense and some were a few far fetched but overall they were really good. It was really interesting to hear a different point of view on the olde fairytales and Disney movies some of us have grown up with. If you are a sucker for princesses and princes who love each other unconditionally and face adversity to reach that love then these are the stories for you.

Great reimagining of well known stories
