No more AI please

The storyline was good, but like most of the others who left a review. I really don't like the AI. No feeling, and what's up with the lisp. I didn't know a computer could have one. I would like to know how the rest of the story goes, but I just can't listen to the AI .

Great book, horrible narration!

Worth investing into a real narrator, hard to buy next in series without knowing it’s not a virtual narrator!!

No emotions with AI voice, HORRIBLE NARRATION

This story would be soooo much better if it were told by human emotion. Skip the computer and read the book.

Anoying characters

Sooooo, they should have been the bestest best siblings in the universe, i mean i would have hated to share a room with my little bro, i mean literally he was kicked out of our room, when my puberty arrived, although in adult head, he was most likely too young to be alone in a room, but he was a boy and we were girls. I mean, of course we spoke after that; and if our parents would have died or disappeared.. still no more roomies, girls room and boys room, i don't think foster cares allow mixed rooms either, but fortunatelly no experience that way.
Than that school dorm thing... He's an annoying brat, i would have taken back all the magic i gave him, if he is not going to tell me about his feelings, days, bullies... I just cannot believe there was never a passive aggressive outburst before the seamstress incident; but according to the book, he was the perfect boy before that and only his friends were asking his big sis for help. I love strong female characters, but she is just a self-announced hero. 14 year old boy should not share a room with his 17 years old sis, and if she is having sex and babies, the 30 year old little brother must be still in the room, or what? I mean, okay, sick people in need of therapy, but without any professional help, but than make them the villain; because it is not something you should want to encourage. Give them a therapist or something if they must be positive characters.
First he wants to go home, than he wants all of the magic. I understand, that he wants his parents back, I think it is messed up, that the dad is the same, but the mom gets a new body, why? And I would have been happier, if she was keen to learn about it, parallel universe, where they still live and with help of magic, understand, their children need them in another universe. But just simply telling my little brother, who is 14, so not a moron anymore, but I treat him, as he was a 5 year old moron, in that case I would at least promise, that I will force my teachers to tell me about those things, if they are real or if the new friends of my bro are really so messed up bad boys, that they would lie about it, or would suggest some really dark and dangerous magic. But noooo, she must act like a wise old woman “let the past go, or it makes you insane, you cannot change it”. I would at least hope, if angels and vampires are real, ghosts are too and my parents have them, in case they are like in Harry Potter, where James, Lily and Sirius were not exactly brave, but also selfish, not staying there for Harry… And instead of beginning to research the options of meeting their dead family, they begin to fight for her abilities. I think it is sick, that they are in love with the boy, who should take away her powers.. I mean it could have been nice, but he was a jerk at the beginning and I would say the build up was more like a boy, playing with an orphan’s feelings, not true love, which overpowers the magical politic…
I begin to listen to this title because of the virtual voice, I hate when characters whisper and shout after another and I have earbuds on… Yeah, it is kind of annoying, when the voice if buffering or idk how to name the unreasonable pauses in the middle of sentence, and I have sometimes difficulties to understand who is saying what, but i am satisfied with it, i was choosing extra virtaul voice story. The plot and the main character is just annoying, it could be interesting, I think it is a really nice original idea, but … I am glad it was a free title, I would hate to spend a credit for it.

Stop the AI

These are good book, like the story line. I absolutely do not like the voice that is reading. There’s no emotion, the highs and lows are so off during the read and the AI Not has a lisp. How is that even possible

Horrible Narration

Story was great. But I almost stopped listening since the AI narration is not the same as having a real human doing the narration. It’s bland! I would say read the book yourself so it’s not ruined.

A personal connection

The people built longstanding relationships in a strong believable way. The adversity’s they struggle through have continuous cliffhangers and adventures.

story line

it was a great collection i enjoyed it very much! I loved all the characters. Maeve drove me a little crazy with her lack of confidence in herself at times but she figured it out in the end.

The narrator was better then I'd expected.

There was way too much cursing especially for a young adult read. They're were several times I thought the AI didn't show emotions where needed.

Can't suspend disbelief with the virtual narrator.

The story was ok bordering good (but not great). I might have rated it higher if I read the book instead of listening. I can tolerate more campiness if I'm reading or there is a really great narrator. I didn't enjoy this format. I'll skip virtual or AI narrators in the future. The voice was nearly emotionless and there were mispronounced words that highlighted the lack of true intelligence. The word 'tear' was read as teer instead of tare (spelling for pronunciation only) and it was driving me nuts. This word is used throughout the story as it relates directly to an important plot point. Glad this was free for me.
