About this listen

Originally published as Little Lies.

Pirriwee Public is a beautiful little beachside primary school where children are taught that ‘sharing is caring'. So how has the annual School Trivia Night ended in full-blown riot? Sirens are wailing. People are screaming. The principal is mortified.

And one parent is dead.

Was it a murder, a tragic accident, or just good parents gone bad? As the parents at Pirriwee Public are about to discover, sometimes it’s the little lies that turn out to be the most lethal. Little Lies is a brilliant take on ex-husbands and second wives, mothers and daughters, school-yard scandal, and the dangerous little lies we tell ourselves just to survive.

Please note: This is the same audiobook as Big Little Lies, also available from audible.com

Really enjoyed the book, the narrator was great, not normally a book I’d go for, but on recommendation I tried it and wasn’t disappointed:-)

Loved it

I wouldn't have ever thought I'd love a book about a bunch of Aussie kindergarten Moms but this was amazing. It dealt with serious issues really thoughtfully and also made me laugh out loud. The women in this book are awesome too - not perfect but you love them all the more for it.

Sensitive issues but made me laugh out loud

What made the experience of listening to Little Lies the most enjoyable?

Caroline Lee always gets her characters' voices just right and paces her story so that the plots flies effortlessly allowing the great writing too shine

What did you like best about this story?

The multiple character views and the mystery! Yes you start knowing a key piece of the puzzle and spend the rest of the book trying to work out how it fits, one of the those "6 months prior" scenarios, but it is done elegantly and adds a level of excitement to the read that I don't expect from Liane Moriarty

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely and one I'll be listening to again

Enjoyable escape to new perspectives

Compelling story with witty and very recognizable characterization of the usual suspects who people a small town and especially a primary school. Works on many levels and packs a powerful punch.

I loved it. The characters and drama in this story are alive in my real life. Primary school is no place for sissies.

A fantastic read

Excellent book. Uncomfortable truths that make you think. There is a little bit of each character in is all. Naration was not great. Well read, but the narrator's voice is too shrill. Overall enjoyable book.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It is an interesting enough story, but the narration is excellent.
The theme of the book is how much of our understanding is based upon appearances instead of reality.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Madeline.

She's very talented.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
