Publisher's summary

The Summer Kingdom has fallen to the Pale Queen, and it's Claire's fault. The Winter Kingdom faces destruction, and it's her fault. Her mother is dead. Everything is her fault.

Once the designated assassin for Queen Mab, Claire is now nothing more than a humiliated mortal, haunted by her own failures. Abandoned by her former allies and stripped of her magic, Claire is banished to the Immortal Circus.

In place of this once-vibrant show now stands an empty husk. Performers who should be tethered to it for eternity are leaving, negating Winter's last hold on the Dream. Someone is targeting Winter's power by weakening its contracts - even Claire's own. And it's not hard to guess who's behind it.

Power or no power, contract or no contract, Claire has an obligation to uphold. And with the fate of the worlds hanging in the balance, she takes on the hit she knows will be her last: the Pale Queen.

Best Yet!

The third installment of the Pale Queen trilogy. The Pale Queen is finally identified, both Mab, Queen of Winter and Oberon (with just a touch of Shakespeare), King of Summer are killed by the Pale Queen and her minions (not the cute ones) and the final battle takes place. Guess who the new King & Queen are ? If you follow this series, you probably already know. And yes, the Oracle is back. Not going to say more or it will ruin it. But I. for one 💘 it.

Great sequel!

Mab & Oberon are dead and gone. Looks like the Pale Queen has won....this one's a "gotta read" to find out what finally happens to both fairey and the mortal world.

A Must listen!

The narrator is awesome and keeps you drawn in. The storyline keeps you on the edge and wondering about the next steps. I will be listening to this again.

So disappointing

I enjoyed the others but I had to quit after a few chapters. The self flagellation got OLD.
