A Gotrek Gurnisson Audiobook

Saving the life of a blaspheming warrior priest, Gotrek finds himself bound to a new companion – and drawn to the Realm of Life, where a terrible threat is infecting its way into reality.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Gotrek Gurnisson, the legendary Slayer, picks up a new accomplice – and faces a truly grotesque challenge in the disease-ridden spawn of the Plague God himself.

THE STORY

Deep in the wilds of Ghyran, a former warrior priest preaches for humanity to reject the gods. The sole survivor of a massacred Dawnbringer Crusade, Amara Fidellus believes that Sigmar has betrayed her – and when she faces execution for such blasphemy, it’s only the intervention of a drunken, taciturn and incredibly violent Slayer that saves her life.

Now bound to Gotrek Gurnisson by a life-debt, Amara finds herself caught up in his quest for revenge. But when the duo become aware of a sorcerous threat building on the far Rocanian Coast, Gotrek and Amara must put aside their own desires for retribution to confront a terrible danger that could plunge all of Ghyran into Chaos, and see a deadly aspect of Nurgle’s Garden manifest in the Mortal Realms.

Interesting side characters and villains for this run, and we are finally seeing Gotrek grow into the Mortal Realms. However the new companion comes off as kind of an idiot based on the circumstances of her backstory, but shows improvement by story’s end. Overall an alright book with probably the least likeable companion of Gotrek yet.

Another amazing adventure of Gotrek, helping fans delve further into the medieval warhammer universe. If you liked the past books you’ll love this one all the same. Jonathan Keeble is spot on with some of the best narrating/voice acting of anyone I’ve ever listened to.

Always awesome!

Really liked the new characters development, plus any Gotrek story is always a loads of fun to experience.

Can’t wait for the next story.

Amazing Gotrek adventure

The new companion for Gotrek started out really weak but became much more likable by the end.

The voice actor really managed to capture a wide range of characters.

The story is great, but the narration really makes it an awesome listen. It's definitely a great continuation of Gotreks tale!

Great Reading

Loved it. I enjoy the place Gotrek is carving for himself in the realms, after meandering for a few books.

As always, the narrator is spectacular, and lends rich life to the text.

A solid entry in Gotrek's legend.

This was a great follow-up in Gotrek’s adventures, well written and narrated as always.

Another great entry in Gotrek’s Saga

a Decent gotrek romp but not as strong as the previous AoS installments. the replacement for Malineth is decent but not as compelling

solid gotrek

Another Great Gotrek story. It weaves you through the "fuel" to his inner fire and drive to keep on living in the mortal realms.

Classic Gotrek adventure. Gotrek getting involved in a new quest because there's always something needing slaying but with a new point of view companion. Richard Strachan introduces some new plot points/threads for future Gotrek novels but don't think he gave enough to really hook readers who aren't already heavily invested in Gotrek's story. Can't wait to see where the story goes from here.

As for performance it's Jonathan Keeble. Enough said.

Can't help but compare the new companion, Amara, to Felix. She has so much more parallels to Felix than Maleneth did. I feel Gotrek should have atleast brought up how similar she is to his last human companion. Without heavy spoilers there is a part that took me straight back to Slayer the last Gotrek and Felix novel and I was just begging for some reaction from Gotrek to show he still remembers his best buddy from the World that Was.

Good but some missed opportunities
