The story:

Using their mysterious aether-science, the Kharadron overlords of Barak-Urbaz offer an end to Gotrek’s quest. But, as the Bad Moon rises and murderous Gloomspite Gitz threaten to destroy the sky-port, Gotrek pits himself against the most ancient enemy of his people - the greenskins. While his aelven travelling companion, Maleneth Witchblade, struggles to keep him alive, Gotrek throws himself headlong into a bloody battle for survival that will take him into the dank, fungal heart of Skragrott’s Asylum.

this was a delightful book to read. Since the gloomspites are my army of choice, being able to finally listen to a story with them in it to get an idea and inside perspective of them was mesmerizing. the book has great story and great plot. awesome characters and well developed. can't wait for the next git book!!!!!

I was a little nervous about doing this as just an audiobook since I did the audio dramas with full casts before this. Mr. Keeble delivers! Great Gotrek voice and the Grots voices were on point. Darius' portral of the gobbos was hilarious and really fleshed them out. He also painted a great picture of the realm of metal!

Fans of the Gloomspite Gitz will love this book! It’s what Gloomspite should have been. Every other chapter in the book is from the Gitz perspective. We get to see their cunning plans being put into action as the Bad Moon rises. There is everything you would expect from the Gitz - backstabbing, betrayal, cunning, flying squigs, Gobbapalooza, the Asylum, everything! The only thing that would make me love the book even more would be if Skragrott got to feature.

It’s also a great continuation of the Gotrek saga. We get to see him develop both as a character and in his relationships with the other characters like Maleneth. KO are a major part of the story and a Slaneesh Prince (unfortunately not Sigvald) even makes a surprise appearance in an interlude chapter.

Probably my favorite of the series and it sets things up nicely for whatever Gotrek is going to get up to next.
