About this listen
Ariel Kimber isn’t your average 17-year-old girl. She’s recently discovered, she’s a witch with magic, and is looking to find her place in a brand-new world. Her place in this new world is in a coven with seven guys.
After all of the horrible things she’s been forced to endure, Ariel was looking forward to building her new life with the family she’s found herself a part of and focusing on healing with Dash after what Chucky did to the both of them. After the blood that had been spilled, they all struggle to put those memories and the incident behind them. It’s easier said than done, though.
Quinton is plagued with guilt and the rest of them struggle with the fact that they almost lost one of their brothers, and Ariel is left with a permanent reminder of the incident.
New bonds are forged, and just as things are starting to settle down again for Ariel and her coven, the Council of Elders makes its first appearance in Ariel’s life. And they don’t plan on going anywhere, any time soon.

Story
I left him behind because I had no choice.... That's what I keep telling myself, but it doesn't make it any easier to sleep at night...or to drown out the words he kept repeating over and over the day we'd met: I just want to go home. That was eight long years ago and I'd only known him as Billy, a terrified 14-year-old I'd had to leave behind to save someone else. But his name wasn't Billy and he's no longer a frightened kid lost in a world where he was nothing more than a possession.

Story
Ever since his rescue op off the Pacific Coast, Mountain Mercenary Gray Rogers hasn’t been able to forget his latest “job”—Allye Martin. Any other woman would have panicked during a rescue, but the wily dancer kept her cool—even after being kidnapped. And Gray couldn’t be happier when a grateful Allye follows him home.... For Allye, finding sanctuary in the arms—and bed—of Rogers is only temporary. People are disappearing off the streets of San Francisco, victims of the same underground trade that targeted her, and Allye could be the key to dismantling the entire operation.

Tia Monroe was smart, sassy, and successful. Sure, she could get a little crazy at times - life around Tia was never boring - but that was part of her appeal. And while she didn't see herself as classically beautiful, she had no shortage of options in the boyfriend department. She just hadn't found one who held her interest. Until she laid eyes on Eric Larsson, and then it was lust at first sight. He packed the perfect mix of smoldering sexy and unapologetic cool into his blond-haired, blue-eyed, ridiculously hot six-foot-four frame.

Sheldon doesn't care about anyone except Corrigan and Bryce. The three of them rule their school, but it seems someone else wants in on the action or that someone else just wants Sheldon. How many bodies is enough to prove their love to her? This book is dark and edgy with sexual situations, drinking, swearing, murder, and more messed-up parents.

The Saga Continues....
This world Mary has these characters living in continues to grow and expand while allowing the characters themselves to grow and come together as more of a unit. I am loving that we are learning more about Damien and Julian, and am excited to see where it all goes from here.

Slower than a slug!
I normally don't stop mid book to comment since I haven't finished this book yet but read the previous two. I've noticed the others have the same problem, no direction! either that or being dragged out to get to the point. The inner dialogue can be toned down and focus on building up the characters with growth. When I say that this character has been thrown into a world of so called "magic" and they're not prepared to teach her anything. Give her a introduction book or discuss magic and what her limited knowledge of it is. There's no school or beginning lessons to teach... things of that nature. if you're gonna do a slow burn series please keep in mind those that are paying want to see some action. I'm not solely talking about sex either. Knowledge, some danger, villains, learning on a curve if in dangerous situations. I understand she's 17 and been 17 two books too long but if you're not going to focus on the sexual aspect of the relationships, then we can at least build up the magical parts that are lacking and have a stronger storyline than her and many boy toys doing nothing but hanging out. I do understand her age and previous circumstances may add to her mindset and how a few things don't add up to me but she's really not likable. that's another thing. Idk if she's trying to downplay her looks because she's supposed to be this gorgeous girl but her choice of style would make her more noticeable if she's truly trying to fly under the radar. She sounds vain, immature, does not want to deal with reality. Nervous, scary and scatterbrained one minute then snappy and crabby the next. she's a weak character. she don't need one boyfriend let alone multiple one. she can't handle it..smh...If it doesn't pick up, I'm not getting another book from this author. ijs!

Ugh. Now it's Me Who's the Survivor
Ok. So there I was merrily listening along to this series non-stop until we arrived here dear reader. It's like the editor took a vacation and we were left with a mash up of "deleted scenes." Am I still going to read the next book? Yes. Am I happy that I this book exists? No. It was an entire book full of filler and long repetitive descriptions. Our heroine was unfortunately acting her age and nothing happened!! I don't particularly need a book to be action packed to enjoy it, but this was stagnant. It was the same conversation over and over about lying and poor Ariel putting up with all the hotties around her. If I ever need the definition of the word survivor, I might listen to this book again. The reader deserves an MVP award for this one.

Audio was good (at 1.5X speed), helped storyline
Not my favorite book of the series so far, but it does set some stuff up for book 4 and beyond. I don't mind slow-born romances, and I knew going in this was definitely on the suuuuper slow side so I am not disappointed in how this are progressing. I will say one of the characters is becoming my least favorite and I was shocked by it (I am already listening to book 4 and his character gets even worse) so I am a little thrown with everything.
Overall I thought this was a decent book in the series. There wasn't a lot of plot, some rehashing of past books. We get to see Ariel recover and Dash recover from what happened in book 2, get to meet the infamous Council and learn more about Ariel's dad/aunt situation based on the what was found in that box. We get to see different facets of the guys who didnt get some showcasing in previous books, to help set the stage for us falling for them (particularly the older 3 guys). I loved seeing the cuddle sessions btw Ariel and some of her guys haha and the cat is adorable as always. Also, the whole deal with her face was a little over the top for me, but I liked getting some insight into Julian's demeanor and behavior. I am happy she is slowly getting closer to some of the guys, hopefully we get even a smidgen of heat soon haha. It's like blue balls on steroids haha, but again because the plot is intriguing and the character development is there, I am just being wishful here, not complaining.
Overall would give this a 3.5-4 stars for the story. I rounded it up to a 4 star because the audio helped bring these characters to life even more. The anguish with the aftermath of Chuck's showdown was fabulous, the wariness with the Council, Quinton's alpha-hole tendencies and Ariel putting him in his place was also a great performance. Also his guilt with the incident was palpable. The whole thing with Annabelle is going to be a bigger thing I bet, and based on the high emotions in this one, I know its only going to get worse when she becomes more involved in the storyline.

Idk about this 3rd book.
Just going to get to the point in this review. Ariel is a boring and weak character, did not like her at all. The story line doesn’t really go anywhere, most of the book is her repeating details and staying in her own head. The relationships are slow and not really building. I don’t like that Ariels emotions are all over the place and not in a good way, one minute she is angry then the next she is calm and sorry. She doesn’t seem to want a relationship with all the guys, don’t think she is the right character to handle them. There is not much action ,and not much going on ,the storyline just drags out. I don’t really wanna finish the book but I paid for it. This series had real potential in the beginning, but it just went downhill in my opinion.
