A life for a life … will kill the both of us in the end.

Clover

I know nothing of the Sickness at Eastpoint University. I know only the backroads that slip past the southern beaches and the gators that make their way onto the swamp's shores. Until him. Until the killer known as Braxton Smalls finds his way into my stilted trailer on the coast of Port Charlotte.

He came looking for Ace, but he found me instead…

Braxton

I’m a monster. Always have been. Always will be. The only people I’ve ever cared about are my boys and their girls. No one hurts my family, and knowing that someone has … and that they’ve gotten away with it plagues me.

Ace Volkov will pay for what he put Avalon through and if I have to use his most precious weakness to draw him out, I will.

She thinks she can bargain for his life with her own, but I mean to show her that there’s nothing I won’t do to see my vengeance through to the end.

Narration.

The narrators were absolutely horrible compared to the first 4 books. The male narrator specifically was utter garbage. Did not fit the tone of Braxton or Dean for that matter and there was a description for how Dean should sound and this guy made him sound so stupid and goofy. It was more suitable for Abel if anything. I was looking forward to hearing a story for Braxton as he’s my favorite but this is just disappointing. The first male narrator for this series had a sexier tone and nailed the vibe of each mmc. I also feel like things moved entirely too fast between the mmc and fmc, like where was the build up? Where was the antici………..pation? It just wasn’t as thrilling as I was hoping it would be.

Narrator.

It was fun to have a new voice for Brax but the original had a good deviation between the guys, I would’ve been ok with him voicing Brax as well. He didn’t know how to pronounce Ava which drove me crazy. Every time he said it, I yelled back Aaaava! I am only like 19 chapters in but I do like the story. Also, not super fond of the voices he has for the other 2 guys.

Narration lacking

I love Brax’s story! I’m not a fan of the male narrator though. He made the guys sound kind of goofy. It wasn’t enough to make me stop listening but, PLEASE recast and give us the deep baritone Brax is supposed to have.

OMG the cliff hanger

I loved this story so much! I can’t even tell you how much I love Braxton and Clover. The narrators who are reading this story are so good I just love them.

Cruel indeed

I am telling you this one was intense. Now I took a short break from these… I’m glad to be back. Great plot…I was yelling at Braxton and man I wanted him myself at the same time! 🤭🤭🤭

Trauma love

As book 5 of the series the plot seems to circle back around to the beginning. Though the Braxton and Clover are not Dean and Avalon. There are times when Braxton’s behavior is questionable and you want to hate him. This series presents strong and independent women which makes them likable and relatable. These narrators presented a nice changed from the first 4 books. Wish book number 4 would have had different narrators than 1-3. I have paid for the last book and looking forward to seeing how Braxton and Clover make
Out.

The new male narrator has a slight lisp.

Why did you change narrators?!?!? I’m expecting this giant twisted sexy deep dark beef of a character to be expressed but couldn’t get past the narrator’s lisp. The narrator does great with what he has, but it did not fit the character from the previous books. Does that make me shallow? Probably. Will likely read the next ones old school.

New narrator for Braxton

I was very thrown off and disappointed that there was a new male narrator. The voices are completely different from the rest of the series and Ava isn't even pronounced correctly. Made me nuts throughout the story. The narrator did a great job, but it was too different from all of the books leading to this one.
