About this listen

In a world where being of mixed-blood is a major liability, Sabina Kane has the only profession fit for an outcast: assassin. Her target is none other than Cain - the father of all vampires and the mosnter who murdered Sabina's family. The key to defeating Cain lies in Rome - in the hands of a mage named Abel.

The fifth book in the best-selling paranormal romance series hailed as "fast paced and fun" by Charlaine Harris.

This was a great book and a very good series. Everything gets wrapped up nice and tight. While it is a happy ending, it is also bittersweet. Sabina Kane has come full circle and come out on top. The entire series is worth reading. I would warn against starting with this boo. You must read the entire series.

Oh the bitter sweet end!! The last two books in this series really got to me. There are so many twists and turns in this book that it will be hard to write a review without any spoilers, but I’m going to try.

For this installment the crew had to travel to Italy to find Abel while also trying to avoid Cain in the process. Abel is the only one that has been able to subdue Cain before and Sabina hopes his knowledge would be able to help him again. Sabina and Abel’s first meeting isn’t the best one. Honestly he was a total ass. I was upset and angry FOR Sabina. After lots of discussions and arguments, Abel finally decides his team will work them to fight Cain.
Ascleopius of course decides he wants his favor cashed in. Why not, right? She’s only trying to kill off Cain. This become another complication in Sabina’s life that she doesn’t need.

Sabina, as the Chosen, has to travel to Irkalla, where she has to pass a series of tests. Each test occurring in each section of Irkalla. As she passes through Irkalla she sees some old acquaintances, family, friends and enemies. As she goes through each obstacle she has her crew to help her get back up and continue fighting. At the end of the proverbial tunnel, we find Lilith who is married to Asmoedus, the King of the demons. These tests are not the typical tests and in the end it will leave Sabina an entirely different person.
Lilith isn’t the nicest person upon meeting her. Sabina is tested again, this time being the most important challenge. Here is where she MUST defeat Cain or they could all die. Sabina must join forces with someone else to defeat Cain.

Just have to say real quick Asmoedus makes a quick cameo and was pretty funny. I was really surprised by him, I would have thought the King of the Demons would be totally different. Then again, if he was he probably wouldn’t have been able to get Lilith.

Again, I don’t want to ruin it but Giguhl gets a happy ending too. He also had to make some decisions in his life. To tell you the truth, I was a little disturbed with Giguhl’s ending and it had me busted out laughing. Only Giguhl!!! LOL!

Overall, I give this series a definite 4 stars. I really enjoyed it. There was plenty of murder, mystery, action, romance and humor. Additionally, I listened to this whole series on audio and loved them. I thought the narrator did a great job.

Series just gets better!

I like Cynthia's performance for all the characters.

EXCELLENT ENDING TO A WONDERFUL SERIES

Any additional comments?

Blue-Blooded Vamp was the final book in the Sabina Kane novels and I enjoyed each and every book in the series! I have been trying to find another series in this genre that lives up to the Sabina Kane novels, and have not found it yet. I started this series after listening to The Night Huntress Novels, Night Huntress World and Night Price novels by Jeaniene Frost and it was a satisfying change. I was worried nothing could live up to those by Frost but was happily proven wrong. I was drawn into Sabina Kane's life and loved the characters Wells created to be along side Sabina through her adventures. I could not stop listening to this series and went from book to book till I finished all of them!

I really enjoyed watching the development of each character throughout the series and everything happened at a good pace. I didn't feel there was any real rushing or unnecessary prolonging of events, feelings, etc, that would normally drive me crazy!!!

The world she created was interesting and made sense. So there was no need to over think the "whys" or "hows" that can sometimes happen in the vampire, mage, werewolf stories. And she managed to do this without over explanation of this world that can become very tedious to listen to.

Well done Wells :)

Great Series!
