Publisher's summary

Love doesn’t always conquer all. Cherise Stanchon is the princess heir of Ethea, a country embroiled in a century-long war. She is old enough to wed, and her betrothed is a prince of the Valdir, a race of dragon riders, and a man she is beginning to love.

But when loss and war threaten to come between them, Cherise must choose between her duty to her country or her heart. Can the two lovers overcome seemingly insurmountable odds?

Or will the war tear them apart? Don’t miss Born of Stone, a novella in the Valdir Chronicles. Please note, this book is meant to be listened to after Born of Air.

Baskerville Book Reviews

While this is a prequel, as the summary suggests, this short story should be read or listened to after the first book in the series. It does a fine job of humanizing and giving attention to characters who really didn’t get much in the books. It was a treat to see their relationship developed from their perspective, as opposed to hearing about it years later.

The audio narration was great.

Great and short

Another great story that really sheds light on why Kalina is the way she is. The romance was sweet and helped explain a lot of other aspects of the main story. Enough action to keep things exciting! I really enjoyed this. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great book

This book was so good and I thoroughly enjoyed listening And learning about all the characters. I know there’s a book prior to this I should’ve read or listen to. But I understood it I still need to go back to listen to all of them but for now I would definitely recommend this book. The narration of this book was done well

Duty or Love? Kalina's Parent's Short Story

Parents- PG13 - +16 read. This is the story of Kalina's parents and why she was put in an orphanage, so there is more romance, make out scene and an intimate scene that leads to her pregnancy. There is some detail but not to the extent of the normal bodice ripper book.

It's a short prequel but not wholly necessary to the story so the younger reader could skip this one due to the content while it is insightful and enjoyable for an older audience. So far this series has been fun but is kind of dark and a bit sad. The narrator does a great job and was definitely enjoyable to listen to.

Love it

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Having finished the series and then starting this novella I was not sure what to expect. But getting to read about Cherise and her sacrifices to protect Kalina was a wonderful treat. I can sometimes be a sucker for a good love story but this was beautiful. Listening to this I was wondering how the end would fit into the series. I loved it! You can’t read the series without reading this one! Highly recommend.

STONE OF HEART

THE STORY IS FILLED WITH BATTLES, ADVENUTRE LOVE AND LOSS AND YOU DON'T FIND OUT TILL THE LAST BOOK BUT HER COUSIN IS LGBT. THAT WAS DISAPPOINTING.

Another great installment

A wonderful addition to the story. It helped clear up some of the back story.

I got chills!

R. A. Lewis has done it again! This novella covers a very key backstory in her Valdir Chronicles series. Short but sweet and quite racy at times, definitely give this one a listen!
