About this listen

This is audiobook #11 in The Creed Series.

Dick Barth is ex-confederate Calvary officer Slate Creed's last chance. Barth is the only remaining man who can clear Creed's name from a hanging charge. Unfortunately for Creed, Barth and his new partner "Stinky" Wilson have just managed to escape the Arkansas Van Buren jail, leaving behind a trail of blood and death. Believing the renegades intend to hide out in the Boston Mountains, the local sheriff washes his hands of the matter, saying with the current rain storm and the upcoming winter, not to mention the countless hiding places, and the uncivilized mountain dwellers, that it would be futile to go after the two outlaws.

Unwilling to let it rest, Creed vows to go after the men alone and bring them back to face justice. Deputized by the Van Buren sheriff, Creed sets out to find the renegades and finds himself not only facing the natural dangers of the mountains, with its shotgun-toting lawless inhabitants, but a danger that is more perilous than he would have ever imagined.

Hillbilly eubonics

Unless you need a lesson in how to talk really dumb, this book is a poor one. The story is hokum, the people are unlikeable and the attempt at mountain speak is atrocious. Wasted a credit here.
