About this listen

The powerful draasin - elemental creatures of fire not seen for a thousand years - have returned. Not all are convinced they should have been freed. As Tan struggles to learn earth shaping, he discovers dangerous fire shapers from Incendin have come to Ethea. When the city is attacked by the draasin, Tan must use his connection with them to learn why. Doing so leads him from the city and forces him to once more face the terrible shapers of Incendin, but this time bound to the draasin for help. If he fails, much more than his life is at stake, for Incendin has stolen the artifact and plans to use its power for unknown destruction.

Disliked the fact that the main character will complete something and immediately deny and even argue that he did so... that being said I liked the book

Silly

I enjoyed the story but the book is very repetitive and takes several chapters to recap the previous book, it is as if the author needed to reach a word count.

Nice story but, still very repetitive!

I like the story allot but my god does the main character have no brain. He does half the shaping with out thinking about it and just doubts his power the entire time... The story is great but I just want to slap the character and tell him to grow up and use his head.

Main Character issues

main character needs to stop doubting his abilities on everything he does. he did that all in the first book and it's starting to get really annoying now that it's into the second book!

Any additional comments?

The storyline is really good. I like the transition from the first book, and the political power plays being made. ....not that its all politics, the book is full of action. I would still recommend the book, but I am stopping here in the series...at least for awhile. The main character's self doubt is beyond all reason. Every step, every hand wave, every grin seems to go through 20 mins of the same arguments made in the previous movement. I literally shut the recording off 40 mins from the end because the main character felt like he was cut and pasted from an earlier stage in the book. Beyond that negativity, however, it is a good story and I enjoyed that.

good story, main character exhausting
