It will take a thief to stop a thief.

Zarinth is a dangerous city at the edge of the kingdom, illuminated by the constant fire of the nearby volcano Ishantil. For thief Ty, it’s more than a city filled with valuable ancient dragon relics. It’s the home he could never leave.

Ty wants one last score before finally leaving the city—and his past behind. All while the notorious Dragon Thief chases the same prize. The Dragon Thief has a reputation for a reason, but Ty begins to think there’s more to the job than he ever expected.

don't buy unless you enjoy being left hanging. they change to AI reading on book 4. I've invested and enjoyed much time listening to the series but couldn't even make it 10 minutes into book 4 before turning it off. the reading is like the worst monotone professor you could ever imagine

the series was good until book 4

How does this book have so many good reviews?! This book is absolutely atrocious. I've read a lot of D.K. Holmberg's books and though most of his books hurt for depth this book, in particular, is atrocious. The pace of this book reminds me of watching a slug cross a sidewalk. Even worse, the plot is boring and there is no depth to it. The character development is awful, and the world building is bland.

Boring

The story is decent but the writing is unbelievably sloppy. Very repetitive, very exposition-heavy, very much a story happening *to* the main cast rather than *because of* them…

Meh…

I tried to be interested in this story but it is very very slow paced and I kept finding myself tuning it out while listening at work. I didn't feel immersed in the story at all. The narrator seemed to do a fine job.
