About this listen

Something wicked is at work in Colorado's supernatural community. Vampires are being paralyzed or killed with poison...a weapon favored by witches. This offense threatens to break apart the already-fractured alliance between witches and the undead.

The state's cardinal vampire, Maven, summons boundary witch Allison "Lex" Luther to stop the killing before it ignites a war. Lex has barely started investigating when she gets another surprise: the biological father she's never met arrives on her doorstep. He has answers to all of Lex's questions about her bloodline, but getting those answers could mean betraying the life she's already built.

Then the next vampire is poisoned - and this time it's Maven herself. The new evil that hunts Lex is powerful and ruthless enough to stop the strongest supernatural creature in the state. In order to find such a killer, Lex will have to face down her own birthright and call on every ally - both living and dead.

This is the third (and sadly last) book in the Boundary magic series. This was the best book in this series yet and introduced a ton of new and interesting elements to Lex’s character.

I listened to this on audiobook and the audiobook is very well done. I would definitely recommending listening to this entire series on audiobook if you like audiobooks.

In this book Lex learns a lot about her Boundary witch powers and also learns who her parents are. All of this ends up tying in with a mystery surrounding belladonna poisoning of vampires. The story is very well crafted and comes together beautifully and I really enjoyed it a lot.

Mainly this book is an investigative urban fantasy but there is a ton of interesting magic in here as well. Additionally some new and interesting characters are added into the mix. I was disappointed to find out that more books are being added to this series because there is just so much more that Lex could do.

Overall this was an excellent book in this series and I was really impressed with it. Despite this being the last book in the Boundary Magic series, I plan on checking out some of Olson’s other books because I really enjoyed this series. I would definitely recommend this series to urban fantasy fans.

Great plot and back story. Loved the part where we learned about the source. Can’t wait for the next one.

Best book by far

Very good character and writing. Nothing epic but enjoyable kept my attention. Kate Rudd is a very good narrator and did a stellar job on Under Different Stars as well.

Enjoying this story

Loved this one and the narration was exceptional. This is the third in the boundary magic books. Each is standalone stories but each build with the same characters. In this one we finally get to fin out who her father is and what happened to her Birth mother. These books are so good. Don't miss out on the audible versions. It's great to read and listen. Or read some and then listen some.

Loved this series!

Amazing

But is it really over? I want to know more. I want to see more. Surely I can't be done with this trilogy forever right??? This is going to leave me with a very expansive book hangover. I can feel it with every fiber of my being. I fell in love with all the characters in this trilogy just like I did the other two trilogies based around these characters. In my opinon, it's really hard not to get attached though. They are all amazing and hilarious! I fully recommend this trilogy, the other two trilogies, and this author!

What an Ending!

I love this story but I kept getting thrown for a loop because the male voices of the narrator are all the same. I kept hearing her boyfriend, Quinn, in all the bad guys.

great story, narrator needs more male voices

What did you love best about Boundary Born?

As much as I love the Scarlett series this is my favorite book by Melissa F. Olson so far. This is mainly due to Lex's character development. Lex remains naive to the Old World and is still stubborn as a mule, yet she is learning to trust the people she cares about.

It's this slow but rich development is I love Mrs. Olson's work so much

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lily. Her humor and personality really balance out Lex's.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are a few and to avoid spoilers I'll leave it at that.

Any additional comments?

I am not a fan of Kate Rudd. Her accent is so pronounced every time she has to do another accent it's just painful to hear. But anyone who is a fan of her work will not find fault in her performance

Over all I loved this book..Great pacing, great character development and a solid story. What more could you ask for.
