About this listen

Do you find yourself constantly asking your child to "pick up the pace"? Does he or she seem to take longer than others to get stuff done - whether completing homework, responding when spoken to, or getting dressed and ready in the morning? Drs. Ellen Braaten and Brian Willoughby have worked with thousands of kids and teens who struggle with an area of cognitive functioning called "processing speed" and who are often mislabeled as lazy or unmotivated. Filled with vivid stories and examples, this crucial resource demystifies processing speed and shows how to help kids (ages five to 18) catch up in this key area of development.

How relatable it was.

Some of the PDFs weren’t available. The readings of the sample summaries at the end were difficult to follow along to without visuals.

I’m not alone

As a parent to a child who is newly diagnosed with adhd-inattentive type and sluggish cognitive tempo this book helped me know that I’m not alone and gave me a great explanation to these new and uncharted waters of parenting. Highly recommend

Addicted to parenting self help books!

I am hooked on parenting self help books! This book was exactly in that category but I’m so glad I stumbled upon it! It opened my eyes to what we are experiencing with our daughter. This book gave a great deal of information on tools to help at home and what you can do to advocate for your child at school. I highly recommend this book!
