Publisher's summary

All his life, Reyes Alexander Farrow has suffered the torments of the damned. Only one thing has given him hope: the woman who radiates a light that no mortals can see; a light that only the departed can see....

Told from his point of view, Brighter than the Sun chronicles the first time Reyes ever encountered Charley and how their relationship has been the one thing that can either save him or doom him.

Darker, without the Snark.

Finally a peek inside Reyes brain. Tragic and dark, you really feel for him he had such a horrible childhood. I would have like to have had this book be more about the adult Reyes vs the young Reyes. The story is just a repeat of the story you heard from the other books only from Reyes point of view, the story isn't necessary for the main storyline. Defiantly not as funny as Charlie's books but good for a sale. Love the narrator I am always willing to listen to her.

I want more!

This story was too short! I know what happens next and yet I want to hear about it all over again. I hope there's another addition coming along.

Darynda delivers once again

Great novella! If you're a fan of the series this is a must read. It gives background into Reyes and having his point of view was great.

More! More!!

Loved every second of it! Reyes is my favorite character in the series. This being told from his point of view is fantastic.

I love Reyes!

I loved hearing from Reyes’ pov. It was heartbreaking in some parts because Reyes had a terrible home life. Off to the dirt on the ninth grave.

A wonderful teaser to keep me in suspense waiting for the next book.

Can't wait for the next book. Lorelei King is great as always. When she reads a book it comes alive. Nice to get to know Reyes a little more, just glad he can't read my thoughts! Lucky Charley.

The other side of the story....

it was really great to hear this side of the story. I love this series - I usually actually laugh out loud! (However this one was a bit hard to listen to at times, what a life he has :( ). Great book with a wonderful narrator as usual. A must listen for Charlie's fans.Well done!!

It's All About Reyes!

When Darynda warned us that this short story was going to be darker than her previous books she wasn't kidding! Of course, anyone who's read any of the series knows about Reyes's abuse at the hands of Earl Walker but this brings it all into disturbing, horrifying focus. On the other hand, there WERE funny parts (it's still Darynda Jones after all!) and it was really interesting to hear about his life, interactions with Charley or "Dutch" and, his time in prison.

Reyes story is special

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Reyes story gripped me from the beginning. This is a darker story than the usual Charlie Davidson books. I love having a better understanding of Reyes and what has made him into the man that he is. Can't say enough good about this series.
