Publisher's summary

Brimstone: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!

A body is found in the attic of a fabulous Long Island estate.

There is a claw print scorched into the wall, and the stench of sulfur chokes the air.

When FBI Special Agent Pendergast investigates the gruesome crime, he discovers that 30 years ago four men conjured something unspeakable.

Has the devil come to claim his due?

Some things can't be undone.

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Another good book

This was a very enjoyable story, and I’m glad I listen to it. The one detraction is the very strange soundtrack that it had. It seem kind of random and it was distracting. Otherwise, I was happy to listen to this and I’m happy to go on to the next book in the series.

Scott Brick - Perfect Performance!

I find some audiobook narrators just do not get the story they are telling...nothing could be further from the truth for Scott. His voice was brilliantly supported by the soundtrack, the combination took the story to a new level! Can't wait for Book 6!

Stop the background music already!

I love the Pendergast series, always great stories. Love Scott Brick's narration. But please give the listener the choice to play the music track or not. Listening to the book in a car even with a direct connection some of the low sounds just clutter the potential to hear the words accurately. I am good with my imagination, I don't need traffic sounds in the background nor do I need a low rumble of any sounds to make the story better. I guess if I was listening with headphones it would work for me but not when listening in the car or especially not when it is just the smartphone speaker!

Love Scott Brick...

Great book con sistema with other of the same series. I have always enjoyed Scott Brick’s voice! However his Italian accent made it hard to listen to.

Leave the music bhind y

Low performance. Based on distracting musical background. Would be better if left out. Strongly recommended.

Can we PLEASE lose the background music??

Love the book. Love everything these guys write, BUT.... can we please lose the background music. NOT Necessary for the story or the presentation. It's just plain ANNOYING. Why these companies insist on doing this I have no idea. We as listeners don't need it. Hachette Audio, for instance, insists on adding sound effects. We have imaginations. We are not so dense as to not know what a gunshot is supposed to sound like, or an explosion or a car crash. Give the listener some credit. I am reluctant to buy any Hachette Audio book for that reason, even though some pretty good books come from that shop. I'm starting to feel the same way here. It's gotten to the point where I import the audio into another editing program and use the filters to delete the music. Shouldn't have to do that.

A Must for Pendergast Fans

One of the better books. Moves a little faster. Makes me want to visit Italy. I could have done without the Christian Zelots. I get tired of that crap. Loved it anyway!!!!

My least favorite of the series so far...

but still irresistibly entertaining! I feel you have to suspend your disbelief for some of the novels logic but being too critical always ruins any type of thrillers! Still a great book.
