Publisher's summary

There's a fine line between love and hate, and it's about to be set on fire.

Brix Ward is a grade-A prick. He's arrogant, spoiled, and self-centered. As the lead singer of A Rebels Havoc, he's used to women falling over themselves for a chance to tame the wild bad boy. Except for me.

I still remember the boy I grew up with. The one who went out of his way to make my life a living hell. I did my best to avoid him at all costs. Imagine my surprise when our parents announced they had eloped, then left me to live with my new stepbrother. Alone.

Now, no matter what I do, there's no escaping him. He's always there, tempting me, provoking me. Every moment of every day. The more we're around each other, the more the heat between us begins to rise. If he thinks he can hurt me again, he’s dead wrong. I won’t let him be the one to destroy me, even if it breaks my heart.

Author's note: This is book one in the A Rebels Havoc series. It can be listened to as a stand-alone and has a HEA. Due to strong sexual content, coarse language, and mature subject matter, this book is not suitable for listeners under the age of 18.

Never Say Never

Title: Brix
Author: Brooke O'Brien
Format: Audio
Narrators: Stefanie Kay, Michael Gallagher
Genre: Romance, enemies to lovers, stepsiblings, rockstar
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: A Rebels Havoc Book 1
POV: Ivy and Brix
Steam Level: Toasty at times
4/5

I love the enemies to lovers trope but tend to avoid stepsibling romance. While Brix is billed a stepsibling romance that whole storyline was, for the most part, irrelevant to the story. Also how/when Ivy and Brix parents married seemed to be thrown in the story in order to make it more "forbidden." The only reason why I can see for this storyline was to have Ivy and Brix in close proximity which could have been achieved in other ways. But, I digress. Overall I liked Brix (the story). Brix (the character) was quite the jerk in the beginning of this story but Brooke O'Brien redeemed him well. This seems like it can be a fun series that I would definitely read more of. While there is some angst, it's not too angsty which is definitely a plus. If you like alphaholes, feisty heroines, sexy rockers, and fun banter then I'd definitely recommend Brix.

I received this audiobook for free from Pink Flamingo Productions and Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.

A little something for eveyrone

Stepbrother - check
Bully - check
Enemies to lovers - check
Rockstar romance - check

This had some serious summer lovin' vibes set in coastal NC (and I'm a local). While I expected a little more "redneck" vibe with the Rebels Havoc title - there was no such thing. The narration was spot on and the story was sweet and sizzling. I'd certainly explore more from this series.

Brix

Don't you just love happy endings. I sure as hell do, there my favorite. I love how the book started and how it ended, I like the Jealousy Brix had when he saw her with someone else. this was a good girl, and the story he told her about when they were in school, omg I just about fell in love with him there. lol this was a really good romance story, narrator did an amazing job too 👏.

A Bully Romance!

This was my first Brooke O'Brien's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in the Rebels Havoc Series, a Stepbrother / Rock Star / Bully Romance. Ivy and Brix's story is well written, emotional, and steamy, filled with angst, and twists and turns. The characters are well developed, and intriguing. I liked the Epilogues, and the beautiful HEA. Stefanie Kay and Michael Gallagher did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to Tysin, the next book in the Series. #PinkFlamingoProductions #AudiobookObsession

Okay so at first you might think that Brix is a a..hole, but in all honesty he is truly a big teddy bear. First time listening to Brooke O'Brian and well have to say I can't wait for more now. Michael and Stefanie did a really good job on narrating this book!

Rockstar, bully, step siblings...check check check

Brooke O'Brien is a new to me author and she didnt disappoint with this scorcher! She masterfully intertwined rockstar, bully and step sibling tropes, covering each perfectly. "Theres a fine line between love and hate, and its about to be set on fire."
