About this listen

Henley Holloway is my boss’s daughter, and I’ve been assigned to mentor her. The problem is, I’m not looking to babysit anyone. But I’m determined to make partner at the firm, and this is the final obstacle in my way. So, I agree to take the little princess under my wing. I’ll work her so hard, she’ll beg me to leave her alone. But from the first day she walks into the office and spills scalding hot coffee on my chest—I’m intrigued.

She’s a Harvard grad. Her work ethic rivals mine. She’s witty and funny and beautiful all at the same time. I don’t want to like her. I have a hard and fast rule about relationships, and I will not break it with my boss’s daughter. That’s a hard no. But she’s everywhere I turn, and I can’t seem to get enough. Weren’t rules meant to be broken anyway?

From the moment we cross the line—I’m done for. Henley Holloway has seeped her way into my heart, one that I didn’t even know still worked. But sometimes loving someone isn’t enough. I’m living proof of that.

**This is book 1 in the Rosewood River Series. Each one can be listened to as a complete standalone. A HEA is guaranteed!**

Small town, workplace romance

Laura Pavlov is the queen of small-town romances! I love how Laura is able to create a cast of characters I immediately connect with! The group of Chadwick brothers were so lovable and I am already excited about the potential tropes I could see happening with this bunch. The undeniable chemistry between Easton and Henley builds into a strong relationship that is healing for both of them. While this wasn't my favorite from Laura I can see so much potential for the characters in this town and cannot wait for the next one. The little bit that was hinted at the end of this one left me so excited! I had a bit of a difficult time connecting to Easton and Henley but I loved the chemistry they felt towards one another. Their passion grows so much from the start of their working relationship to the end of the book.
The audiobook was very well done and I always love the narrators Laura chooses for her characters.

Loved it

I was excited when I heard Laura Pavlov had a new series, Rosewood River releasing and that some familiar characters might pop up.

If Steal My Heart is anything to go by then she has a winning series on her hands.

This is Henley Holloway and Easton Chadwick work place romance and it was a well written, entertaining and emotional read.

Loving romance stories set in small towns the added bonus of some familiar characters added to my enjoyment of this book.

The last thing Easton wants is to mentor the owner of his companies daughter. However from the moment they met, the sparks flew.

I loved their journey. Easton’s painful past is palpable as you read and the narration by Andi Arndt and Connor Crais was spot on in my opinion. They did a wonderful job with their narration. Bringing both the characters and story to life for me. Not only are their voices easy to listen to but they brought the emotional pain, drama, passion, humour and romance to their performances.

Great Start to the Series!

“You walked into my life and stole my f****** heart, Henley. I didn’t even know it still worked. But it’s yours.”

Easton Chadwick is known in the legal world as the “Shark”. He’s a tough and hard-working attorney. He has won pretty much every case he’s had. Now he’s tasked with mentoring his boss’s daughter, Henley Holloway. At first Easton was annoyed, he didn’t want to be babysitting his boss’s daughter. He believes she only got to where she is because of her last name. But when he sees her work ethic and that she can handle any task he throws at her, he realizes that he misjudged her.
Henley Holloway recently graduated from Harvard and is starting at her family’s law firm. Her first day didn’t go as smoothly as she hoped. First she set off the alarm then she split scalding hot coffee all over boss, Easton. She knew winning Easton over would be difficult since she knew what he thought about her, but that wouldn’t stop her from proving that she belonged there.
Working together all day, every day brings up feelings Easton does not want to feel. Henley may be beautiful, smart, and funny, but he doesn’t do relationships for a reason. Easton’s past still haunts him. He doesn’t want to lose someone he loves again. But Henley has already worked her way into his heart. Now Easton must decide if being with Henley is better than never being with her at all.

Steal My Heart is the first book in the Rosewood River series by Laura Pavlov. I loved Easton and Henley’s story. Their banter was so funny and the tension between them was electric. Not even five chapters in and Easton was already so gone for Henley. It was so funny to see how jealous he got when other guys would flirt with her. He didn’t even like his brothers and cousins flirting with her. They both had their struggles and Laura portrayed them really well. Henley was scared that people would leave her. Her parents pretty much left her alone growing up. Easton fears losing the people he loves. In his past, he lost someone that meant so much to him that it still haunts him. He was going to a therapist for some time but stopped. When he realized how much he liked Henley, it scared him. I’m glad he reached out to his therapist again to talk about things. I love that we got to see Emerson, Nash, and Beefcake again. Beefcake is the cutest kid ever. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

The audiobook was so good! I love these narrators. They did a wonder job with the characters. The way they portrayed them and conveyed their emotions made it feel like I was right there with the characters. These narrators never disappoint!

Another small town gem

Laura Pavlov is the queen of small town romance and introducing us to Rosewood River only confirms that. With the Chadwick family being well know in town who better than Easton Chadwick to show the new girl Henley around, they will be co-workers after all. Unfortunately for Henley, Easton’s grumpy back and forth attitude only makes things harder and working together becomes tense. It isn’t till Easton’s family invites Henley over for Sunday dinner that she starts to realize Easton’s attitude might stem from places deeper than just her showing up. I once again love another Laura Pavlov book, all the small town vibes, the way the family comes together, their banter, the different personalities, the deep conversations that only have you relating to these characters even more as well as the spice that keep tensions high. Andi Arndt and Connor Crais narrate in duet doing a beautiful job bringing Easton and Henley to life. Both Andi and Connor truly thrive in small town, expressing the closeness they have with the community, the flirty banter and smiles behind their voices, the desires to settle down as well as the genuine connection Henley and Easton have, not only romantic, but as friends, and both narrators really brought those emotions out. I was thrilled to have some of our Magnolia Falls favorites back and can’t wait to continue in Rosewood River.

I loved this new spinoff! I devoured the audiobook in one day. It's that good!! Henley is the boss's daughter and is assigned to be mentored by Easton. He's hoping to make partner at the firm and this is his last obstacle. But on Henley's first day it doesn't go as planned. Easton becomes intrigued and can't help being around her, always seeking her out. As they spend more time together will Easton break his own rules about relationships??

I loved Easton. After he got introduced in Finding Hayes I was super excited to read his story. I loved how he was broody, cocky and fell hard for Henley first. I loved his passion for law and pickle ball. I adored Henley. She was the sweetest person. I loved that she was independent and loyal to a fault. I also loved how Easton and Henley were both competitive and had similar interests.

Most recently I listened to the audiobook and it's wonderful. Performed in duet by Connor Crais and Andi Arndt. These two were phenomenal. Connor conveyed Easton's broodiness with a deep, somber tone that still exuded Easton's confidence. Connor had a wide range of tones narrating over 10 male characters and had different voices for each one. I swear they all sounded like different people. Andi conveyed Henley with an excited tone. She exuded Henley's optimism for working at a firm in a small town. I also loved how Andi captured the fun side of Henley with a cheerful, happy tone. Together, Connor and Andi's narration brought these characters and story to life. Highly recommend!

Great start to the series!

This was a fun start to the Rosewood River series. I really enjoyed Henley and Easton + loved seeing their romance surface. They were fun, had great banter, and had the best chemistry!

Let’s note - the gossip column is such a fun addition to everything! Total Gossip Girl vibes and I’m living for it!

🎧 I also did a read along with the audio. As always, Andi Arndt and Connor Crais performed amazingly. I don’t think I’ve ever listened to a duet narration with the two of them together, but I was pleasantly happy with their duo performance!

I’ll be catching up on the Magnolia Falls series while excitedly waiting to read more of this one!

Love

Great start to the new series! I loved the MC’s and the rest of the family! And nothing beats the group chats. The duet narration was the cherry on top. Five stars, chef’s kiss!

STOLE my heart

-small town romance
-enemies to lovers
-grief
-office romance
-grumpy/sunshine
-bosses daughter
-he falls first

A new series by Laura Pavlov with a few moments to hear from some of our favorites again (Emerson, beefcake) as this story is around Emerson’s twin brother Easton. Easton is a workaholic with some past trauma that put up this hard wall; until Henley Holloway walks in.
Henley is smart as a whip and fresh out of school heading to work at her dad’s law office, where Easton was employed as well. Easton was tasked to mentor her and I got serious Tim Bradford/Lucy Chen mentor/mentee vibes (show The Rookie).

The banter was so well done and had me really cheer on Easton and Henley. Easton needed to be pulled out from the fog and had no idea Henley was going to be pulling him out. Can’t wait for more from Rosewood River. 🩷

Amazing listen and sweet story

Laura Pavlov continues to prove herself to be the undisputed queen of small-town charm! I could not adore this start of the Rosewood River series more! Steal My Heart is a perfect blend of effortless romance, deep emotion, and tender and heartfelt storytelling—everything that makes her writing so deliciously irresistible. Filled with rich chemistry, the most endearing literal band of brothers, magnetic characters, and the most charming small town yet, it’s impossible to not have your heart stolen (I couldn’t help myself) by this deliciously banterful, adorably swoony, and heartwarming enemies-to-lovers workplace love story. As always, Laura delivers a story so full of romantic optimism and authenticity that my heart is left warm and full. I can already tell that Rosewood River is going to be my new favorite place to visit.

These characters are all so fiery I can tell this series is going to be so fun (don’t forget that Laura is also ridiculously funny- and her humor and wit sparkle in this story to). Our main characters have so much banter and tension, and I adored watching them breakthrough their barriers so the Shark could get his Princess. It was beautiful, so charming, and just a feel good fun time. I’m so charmed by the magic of this world!

And if you weren't already sold… there’s a running funny pickleball league! I mean come on?! It’s just the best.

And the audio y’all?! Connor Crais ATE THIS PERFORMANCE UP. He’s pitch perfect as the initially grumpy Easton, and brings all his charm and charisma to life so vividly. And Andi Arndt never fails to bring so much heart and soul to every performance. A truly masterfully produced and performed audio- both brought so much energy and emotional range to the characters.

Laura always delivers stories I know that will sweep me away into the most charming places with the most lovable people!
