About this listen

Bad boy football star. Innocent girl next door. Two different worlds. One small town. A million reasons why they should have stayed away from one another.

My name is Adelaide Edington, and my life was mapped out for me before I even entered the world: who I'd date, where I’d attend college, what I'd be when I grew up.

But there comes a time in everyone's life when they face a fork in the road. Should I go left, or should I go right? It didn't matter as long as I didn't remain stagnant any longer.

Jett Stone opened me up to a whole new world, reminding me that it was okay to find my own way. I could have roots in Willow Springs and still spread my wings and fly. What I didn't expect was to fall in love with the broody football player.

The boy I’d known since kindergarten. The boy who I wasn’t supposed to be with—but had somehow become my everything.

This is book one in the Willow Springs series, but it can be listened to as a complete standalone. HEA is guaranteed!

Laura Pavlov can do no wrong!

Normally I do not like high school romance books but this one is different. I actually listened to this series out of order and read this one last. The love story in this one is sweet and wholesome. But you will get angry at some parents in this book. Overall great book!

Solid 4.6/5

Bro this book! The friends were amazing ride or dies and side characters. Ren was a God send. And above all Jett and Adelaide were a beautiful couple. He pushed her to become and step into who she wanted to be. She always saw the best in others and if I’m being honest that is what I’d suspect her demise to be. The dude physically assaulted her and would’ve took it further if Jett hadn’t been there to stop him yet she turned around and stood beside him while recovering. Alec never had to take responsibility for his actions and I HATE that she made it okay by forgiving him for everything when he did absolutely nothing to prove charged behavior.

Next. Her mother ain’t 💩 and her father wasn’t too much better. The scene in the hospital room and days that followed made em feel like the story went from a 5 to a 4.6 🌟

Initially I was torn between liking Ellis and being confused with his lack of having his own voice (which annoyingly bled into his daughter) but that scene had me shutting down all thoughts of empathy towards him. The father not realizing his own child isn’t happy is weird energy to me. Your kid is VALEDICTORIAN and you thought state school was the furthest she could get? Or want to go? Seriously? Then he’s like Adelaide stayed at Alec’s bedside because it’s her decision to be, well yes the boys mother threatened her and you AND her mother stood there “looking at your feet” are you kidding me??? By the end when Adelaide over heard her mother with Alec’s mom is when she felt “allowed” to tell him how she felt. That’s sad.

Idc how Laura tried to dress up the dad’s actions (or lack thereof) at the end he and the mother both disgust me. I wish the ending would’ve pushed children to stop accepting the bare minimum from their parents on the strength of “but that’s my mom” or “but that’s my dad.” Many parents hardly deserve the title, we need to start encouraging healthy ways to set boundaries from our friends but even more importantly our parents.

Good Story

Good story of good girl and boy from the wrong side of the tracks...

I enjoyed these characters and their story. The friends to lovers is one of my favorites to read and this is spot on.

The audio is a good one to listen to!

Young adult

I was surprised when I started this. It was Laura Pavlov, so I just one clicked and didn’t read the synopsis. I’m not usually into this genre but I was surprised I enjoyed it.

What a beautiful story!!

I'm a sucker for the under dog. The one that peope judge ,but know nothing about. They are always the sweetest and best people. I loved this story and the revelations for each character. The narrators did a spectacular job bringing the audiobook to life !

Enjoyable YA romance.

Frayed, book one in the Willow Creek series is a YA story with interesting characters trying to figure their way through their high school years. I normally don’t run to stories with younger characters but I love Laura Pavlov and her books, so I dove in. I was definitely not disappointed.
Adelaide and Jett are from completely different backgrounds even though they have grown up in the same small town. They have known each other for years and have always had a special connection, but navigating those younger years always comes with challenges whether it is from other kids or family or simply academic pressures but somehow these two find that it is their friendship that bonds them together as they deal with all that is thrown at them and now it’s their time to take the leap towards their futures together.
I also had the added benefit of listening to this book and the narrators did a wonderful job that definitely added to my enjoyment of this story.
