4.5 ⭐️ 3.5 🌶️

This book had me at grumpy MMC —even being sick couldn’t stop me from devouring it! Lucy is a pink-wearing, badass queen, and Rhett? Has the ultimate BDE with more baggage than an airport. Their accidental Vegas marriage was a hot mess, but boy, did they make it work. The banter? Sharp enough to cut, and the chemistry? Enough to melt ice. Rhett’s emotional baggage had me wanting to hug him, then shake him, then maybe climb him like a tree. Lucy brought the sunshine to his storm, and together they were *chef’s kiss*. The supporting cast was hilarious, and the bonus chapters? Absolute gold. Ivers nailed it—I’m officially obsessed and diving into the next book. Hello Avery and Foster!

New to me author this is 1st (and last) of this series I will try to read. I found the book to be a mess, it's like EVERY TROPE in the world was thrown in to see what sticks. Way too much trauma and baggage for a light romance novel. There was no sweetness or humor to lighten this up. At times I felt like I was reading over some super sad therapy sessions.
