Not the end.

For those confused about the ending being abrupt for being the final book in the trilogy, it's because it's not actually the end of the story. It continues on with Destiny Lost in the Orion Wars series.

Not bad

The jumping around with timelines was sometimes confusing. The action was mainly towards the last two hours of the book which had me gripped. The ending had me going WHAT? You can’t end there I want to know what happens next. Next book here I come.

Great story. Great narrator.

This is a great continuation of the saga. Notice I say continuation, and not conclusion. It definitely leave things open ended for more. It’s a good thing there are so many books in this world!

Audio Artifacts Causing Squeals

First, This Book starts off VERY Slowly compared to Previous Books in the Series... It's NOT "The High Octane Action" you come to expect from Book One... It turns into more of a Romantic Love Story, with a Jumpy Time Line, Trying to track an unrealistic Super-Villain, and it seems to jump from one Plot to another at several points, while kind of "Wandering" in many places... As other Reviewers have noted, the "Action" doesn't really start until about the last Hour and 20 Minutes of the book...

I hate to say it, but this Installment just didn't contain enough new material, or action, to cause me to buy the next book in the series... Everything "Important" to the Series as a whole, and "Enjoyable Action Sequences", could have been compressed into a 3 hour book without a reader missing a thing...

However, my MAIN reason for the low "Overall Rating", and "Narration Rating" was due to what I think are Audio Artifacts in the High Frequency Ranges, due to the Audio Recording being run through "Sound Leveling Software" (Probably a Logarithmic Filter) which causes the Louder and Higher Pitched Portions to retain a "Squeal" at the points where the Software had to drastically lower the Volume of a Section to match the Volume of other Sections... You get a LOT of HIGH Pitched "TEEEECH" Sounds, and "Squeals", and "SKEEEETCH" Sounds... I had to turn the Volume of my iPhone WAY down so the Artifacts weren't jarring and painful via my Bluetooth "Sleep-Phones"... I had to turn the Volume down so low that it caused me to fall asleep A LOT, and then have to back up and find my place again in the book where I fell asleep...

Honestly, I'd hate to be the Audio Technician who had to try to filter out those Artifacts with Noise Canceling Software, because that would probably lead to MORE Compression Artifacts from trying to remove the "Sound Leveling Artifacts"... Probably going to have to go back to the Master Recording and run it though a much less Aggressive Sound-Leveling Algorithm.

End of an Era

Interesting tech, great characters, mystery, action. What's not to love? A bittersweet ending to this sub-series within the greater Aeon 14 universe. But don't start with this book: first read book 1, Outsystem and book 2, A Path In The Darkness

A well executed story

The physics & battle tactics are both interesting and gripping. Now to get to fifteen words.

the ending ruins the series

the ending is abrupt, has no lead up, makes little sense, and greatly disappoints. if you enjoy being frustrated at the end, read this.
