Publisher's summary

It all started with a glimpse.

A chance encounter left an impression and Wolfgang Brandt was hooked. When Caleb turns 18 in two months, Wolf is going to be at that birthday party come hell or high water. He doesn't care if he has to fly across the world to be there. But then things go south and Wolf is left reeling when Caleb goes missing. He will do everything in his power to bring him home. The world isn't big enough to contain his rage.

Caleb Robertson wants Wolf, an older man, a sexy warrior. Is it any wonder he's drawn to the soldier since he's been around military men his whole life? Not to mention, he's going to enlist or join the police academy when he turns 18. He just hasn't decided which one. But all that will need to wait when someone snatches him off the streets and he has to find a way to get back home.

One man's will to survive and one man's devotion to find him come together in this next explosive story when Phoenix and the military might of Infinity team up. Will it be enough to stop a psychopath?

Contains mature themes.

Entertaining

It was entertaining to listen to Caleb and Wolf’s evolving romance. Caleb’s character was resilient and committed to becoming Wolf’s romantic life partner, while Wolf vacillated between feeling too old and damaged from a previous lover and feeling an intense attraction for Caleb.
The paramilitary action against villainous Russian mobsters was generally entertaining, although there were some inconsistencies in Wolf’s hesitant actions against the villains when his character was written to be ultra professional and willing to kill bad guys without compunction.
Tristan James is a narrator I have a little trouble with. His voice has a pleasant resonance and he speaks the story lines with really good measure and cadence. However, he is not so good at differentiation between the characters and I frequently would be briefly confused as to whom was “speaking”.

Loved it!

4 Blue Roses
4 Blue Flames

Narrator Tristan James slam-dunked the last two volumes of the Out for Justice series. Obviously, he likes to narrate Guns and Badges tropes, but man, I could tell he enjoyed this series very much. The enthusiasm and extra drop of effort he projected, enhanced the tension and emotion into lower your visors, this stuff is going to scorch your irises and outshine all his other audiobooks. This narrator and author duo is a recipe for success. They compliment each other’s styles beautifully and I will certainly listen to more audiobooks released by this duo.

Book 5 was the cherry on the cake. Definitely, ending the series with a blast. I loved the age-gap trope, with the younger character being highly intelligent and mature far beyond his years. Caleb is a savant, he knows what he wants and he wants Wolf.

The author succeeded in creating well rounded brilliant character development, not only primary but secondary characters as well. I fell in love with the protagonists almost immediately. The places we visited to search for Caleb were vividly described, especially when we followed the horrid trail of burning bodies. This was deeply upsetting to hear how people are treated like garbage. It bore holes deep inside my soul because we all know human trafficking is real and real people are treated that way daily.

I do recommend this whole series.

Justice is served!

Would I listen to it again: yes ✔
Did the story keep me engaged: yes ✔
Was I invested in the characters: yes ✔

📖 I listened to all 5 books in the Out for Justice series back to back and loved every one of them. My review covers the whole series in general because there is a story arc that is built on in each book so the full series really needs to be listened to to get all the answers, but that was OK, because the series is well developed, each story is action packed, full of tension and excitement, has good pace, likeable characters, really bad-bad guys who get what's coming to them, and overall I was happy with the conclusion. Bulletproof is probably my favorite of the series. Wolf was a bit of a loner and an enigma when he appeared in the other books and i'm glad he got a HEA. 😊

🎧 Tristan James was a good choice of narrator for this series and he did a great job with the narration. Each character had his own voice and was consistently maintained throughout the series. I had no problem distinguishing characters and his rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the characters to life.

👍👍 Overall a excellent series that I thoroughly enjoyed and will happily listen to again.

Sweet and sexy MM romance

Sweet MM military story. Steamy, but not to the point where it drives the story. Both characters are realistically flawed, which only adds to their likeability, I’m not a fan of the narrator, though. He does different voices, but they’re not consistent, and worse, they sound ridiculous.

Age gap and hurt comfort

Awesome end to an awesome series. This was a great way to end this series. This was a hurt comfort type story between an alpha male and the young man he rescues. This entire series was plotted perfectly overall and individually.

A fabulous series!❤️

I have thoroughly enjoyed each book in all of Reese Knightly’s series and I especially loved this book. Wolf appeared in other books of the series, always as a loner. I am so glad that he finally got his hea. It was a struggle for both he and Caleb, but neither of them gave up. I highly recommend any of Reese Knightly’s series and books!!!❤️

Bulletproof

Bulletproof by Reese Knightly was a great book/audo. I have both as I enjoy reading then listening. I seem to catch something different each way. This is a same sex book with a unit of quite a few same sex operators. Though it's not extremely graphic. The narration was okay but sometimes, on my first listen, it threw me as its such a distinctive voice when it changed characters it made me a little confused. It didn't detract from the story though. I listened again so I didn't miss anything. I listen multiple times like I said as I pick up different nuances the more I do. I do encourage you to read or listen as the author is very talented.
