About this listen

Beautifully tender and unforgettably funny, prepare to fall in love with this modern-day nod to a classic romantic comedy.

Ever since their chance encounter as seatmates on the plane ride from hell, Harry “Harrison” Fields and Harry “Henry” Lee have had a love-hate relationship. But every time their paths have crossed over the years, they’ve grown to like each other more and more, even developing an unlikely friendship.

Now, Harrison is a fun-loving music teacher who wears his heart on his sleeve, and Henry is a hard-driving business man who’s still striving to get out of his father’s shadow.

As they go through life’s inevitable heartaches and losses, their friendship only deepens. Sure, there’s always been a simmering attraction between them, but nothing worth threatening their friendship over...until one of them takes things too far. But when a valuable friendship hangs in the balance, is a chance at romance worth the price?

Love doesn’t care if you believe in it
This new twist on a legendary rom-com classic by debut author Sydney Smyth sees Harrison and Henry, aka Harry and Harry, bumping into each other over the years. At first their encounters don’t necessarily end well, but nevertheless there’s something special left between them. With a dual narration from fan-favorite Teddy Hamilton and new-favorite Malcom Young, there’s something special in the audio performance as well. The slow fall of our two main characters is a ride I’ll sign up for any day, but now with these two accomplished narrators in the picture, listening to When Harry Met Harry has been a sweet summer song to my ears.

Super cute with great narration

This was a super cute story and the narrators did a fantastic job. The end was good but also in a way rushed[?] and we have no idea about certain details since they weren’t expounded on or tied up in the end.
*Closed door scene and no/low angst

Cute Book

I enjoyed this book. Loved Teddy’s narration as always (PLEASE do more MM books, lol) and really enjoyed Malcolm’s, too.

Meh

This is a SLOW burn. Absolutely nothing happens between the two of them for the majority of the book.
The sex is also fade to black. Nothing more than kissing happens on page. So if you’re looking for steam this is not the book for you.

Even after Harrison and Henry eventually hook up they spend the rest of the book either being mad at each other or completely avoiding each other. Nothing is resolved until the very last chapter and by then I honestly didn’t care if they ended up together or not.

This whole story could have ended a quarter of the way through if they just talked to each other and expressed their feelings but then what would the point be in that?

Henry drove me nuts after the hook up. I can honestly say I didn’t want Harrison to forgive him. I felt for Henry but a ring pop does not make up for all the crap he pulled.

And what is with this author and having her characters take over another persons wedding speech to make a point about their own love life. Using your best man speech to whine about how your never meant to fall in love or complain about the jerk who did you wrong is not okay in my opinion.

Teddy Hamilton was amazing as usual. He never fails to make the characters come to life. I’m not sure I would have finished the story if it weren’t for him.
Malcom Young did alright but as others said there did seem to be some production issues on his side of the story.

Also this book just reaffirms my hatred for music in audiobooks. The music added to the beginning of each chapter was annoying and completely unnecessary.

A fan fiction of the movie

80% of the book is a pg13 fan fiction of the movie. The last part is the only new addition. It was ok, took me a wile to finish only because there is so much time jumping that it didn’t matter if I stop reading after one chapter, because the story would pick up years or months later, so no unfinished action within the book.

The Rules of Love

Such an interesting book to read from beginning to end. I love how the start of the book is incorporated with the ending. There were different forms of representation of identities which was nice to see inclusitivity. Overall it gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling of hope and happiness for love to conqure all.

Cute book and storyline

I like the story a lot. Its easy, predictable but really make me feel a good love story without any high technology nowadays. The asian character made me feel related. So that's probably bias haha since im asian too. But i like the book.

Enjoyable time-killer

Build up was long and stiff and when it came to payoff it suddenly felt rushed and cheap.
Still, was quite enjoyable.
Performance was ok, even though I don’t understand why they used two narrators between Harrison-Henry chapters when the book itself was written in third person perspective thus making voices of main characters sound completely different and vice-versa.

Great Gay Romance

I’m often searching for quality gay romantic novels, one w a story vs a bunch of soft porn. When Harry met Harry was just what I was looking for in a gay romance book. This is one of those light summer escape reads and I just loved it.
