Faye Longchamp-Mantooth, who runs a small archaeological consulting firm, is in Oklahoma so she and Joe can join his father, Sly Mantooth, in dispersing his mother's ashes. While there, Faye is serving as archaeology consultant on the reopening of a site closed down decades before when an archaeologist disappeared. The Muscogee Creek Nation intends to create a park, if nothing sacred lies in the soil. But the bones that emerge as the backhoe completes its work prove to be those of Dr. Sophia Townsend, killed by a blow to the head. Now tribal police hire Faye to investigate. In so doing, Faye learns that Sly Mantooth knows more about the dead woman than he has admitted.
Sophia Townsend had possessed a forceful sexual magnetism that she didn't hesitate to use to manipulate everyone around her, breaking hearts and destroying marriages. Was she killed by a lover, a wife, or Sly Mantooth? Or was it due to greed or fame? Faye's obsession with this case tests her professional ethics as well as her marriage. Such was the power of Sophia Townsend that, 29 years after her murder, she wreaks havoc once again.

What did you love best about Burials?
I have really liked this series since I first happened upon it. I have always found Faye Longchamp an interesting character. The book prior to Burials, Isolation was difficult to get through. It is difficult to see a strong character floundering and flounder was all that Faye did in Isolation. So I hesitated to purchase Burials but I am glad I did. I remembered how much I enjoy the series all over again. What does Cassandra Campbell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Cassandra Campbell HAS to be the narrator, she is Faye, Joe, the whole world of Dr. Faye Longchamp-Mantooth.So glad Faye is back.

Where does Burials rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
All of her books are in the top 10. I don't think I can pick a favorite. I have been reading her books for years now and listen to them multiple times. Love the characters and the setting feels like I have visited the sites where the story unfolds.Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes. I know the characters. I know the places where the story unfolds. Even so, which part of the mystery will resolve the tension? Its almost always a surprise. I love this kind of mystery. What about Cassandra Campbell’s performance did you like?
She did a great job describing the settings and giving life to each character.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me bite my fingernails. I feel like I know the characters and love most of them.Any additional comments?
I hope the next book in the series is out soon!Marry Anna Evans is my favorite Author!

To the author, there's been too much fluff. Redundancy. I get the whole bringing up from past books for the reader who jumped in the middle, but in one book in particular you tapped in to a previous book more than once. the same exact thing. Fluff. More fluff putting in lots of verbiage that doesn't add to the story. I'm finding myself do bored. I have literally dozed off. finding several chapters have gone by & I'm still on point, having missed nothing that adds to the book without having listened. I enjoyed much of the Faye books. but if you can't keep them interesting & keep your listener longing for the next in the series. maybe you should wait & write a really good book instead of mediocre. I want to be invested! and please! does Faye always going to have to have her full longer than necessary title all the time? initial introductions maybe? but throughout the whole book? gosh, if that was to be the case, couldn't she have been penned with a shorter name? gets on my nerves with all that. In the world we live in, people are going to cut to the chase
in the modern world, people just aren't that formal anymore
I'm not trying to be mean . I'm trying to bring things to light that you may want to consider. except for narration. That's something that I truly don't understand. why isn't there more attention to detail? men & women narrator's? more critiques? I'm not going to proofread so hope it reads ok. ok seems to be good enough.
Meh
