About this listen

I told her my secrets and she told me gilded lies.

The words that dripped from her lips like honey were nothing but empty promises. Her betrayal blindsided me. Posie had been my constant. My anchor. My calm. Until she wasn’t.

Now she’s my enemy.

Before I could even the score, she fled to the other side of the country where she thought she was safe from my wrath.

She was wrong.

It didn’t matter how far my butterfly flew, I always knew where she was. All I had to do was wait and prepare for her return.

After six years, Posie has flown back into town, and I have her cage waiting.

Butterflies & Vicious Lies is a standalone enemies-to-lovers college romance. It contains mature content and a guaranteed HEA.

I fell hard for this one! The story of Butterflies and vicious lies was exactly how an enemies to lovers book should be written! The chemistry, hurt, pain, love, lust and everything in between with posey and Rafferty was above and beyond. The torment each and ever character carried within themselves was genius and well thought out. I highly recommend this book!

Beautiful & chaotic !

That was absolutely enthralling. The angst was unreal, you could feel the weight of Posie's secrets was palpable and got heavier and heavier until they spilled. I love the way Kayleigh wrote it too, the back and forth between present and past was so well done. I binged this one for hours and had such a hard time putting it down.

Posie's and Pax's relationship was really wonderful. While this trope isn't really touched on, this is technically a best friend's brother romance and I was so happy when Pax was able to lean on her again. I would love to see his story some day.

Another fantastic audio with Michelle Sparks and Lee Samuels. I absolutely loved both narrators and the way they portrayed these characters.

Rafferty and Posie

This was my first Kayleigh King book so I went in pretty blind to her writing style. Rafferty started out as curiosity to me, we’re fed piece by piece of what he considers Posie’s betrayal to be and most of the first 50% revolves around his revenge against her. He’s definitely a sexy possessive alpha hole so it ultimately worked for. God bless Posie, the secrets she’s kept and also told have caused a lot of pain but she did them for good reasons. She’s a much stronger character than I initially gave her credit for. As we start to learn what really happened in the past, this becomes such an emotional rollercoaster and broke my heart at times. I ultimately thought it had a great ending and I was obsessed with Rafferty by the end 😅 I’ll definitely be checking out more of her writing.
I did the audiobook on this one — Michelle Sparks and Lee Samuels were phenomenal in it!

"I'm going to clip her wings and, like the end of my cigarette, I'm going to burn her until there's nothing but ash."

The glimpse of Rafferty that we got in Golden Wings is the reason I picked up this book. I was intrigued about his story. Honestly though I couldn't stand him for at least half this book.

I understand his reasoning to a point but at the same time, he was under the impression that she was trying to protect him and yet he still had all this hate towards her. I did end up enjoying the story. It's very well written and my feelings for Rafferty ended up changing.
