About this listen

Kickass heroines. Fire-breathing dragons. Epic adventures. Your thrill ride awaits in this brand new dragon rider series, for fans of Eragon and Dragon Riders of Pern!

Zara Kenrook has never wanted to be ordinary. Abandoned at an orphanage, destined for a life in the slums, she’s clawed her way to the top and made herself a name as one of the best treasure hunters in Elantia.

But Zara hasn’t gotten to where she is without making enemies, and when one of them calls in a debt, her entire livelihood is thrown into peril. Suddenly, Zara is faced with two impossible choices—break into a dragon rider’s home and steal a priceless artifact, or lose the career she’s worked so hard to build.

Luckily, Zara has some experience pulling off heists, and she’s never been one to back down from a challenge. But when the object she tries to steal turns out to be a dragon egg, her whole world changes. For this particular dragon is about to hatch, and once it lays its fiery eyes on Zara, her life will never be the same….

A good dragon story

Very much enjoyed the story. Only adjustment I would like is more interaction between the dragons. They are portrayed a little too much like just cool mounts and not the powerful sentient creatures I like to read about. Wouldn’t change anything else. Lol I binged the audio in 2 days because it got me so enraptured.

Pretty Good 👍

If you're looking for a good fantasy story, this is a pretty good choice. It's not as epic as Game of Thrones, but it's not trying to be like that either. Give it a shot guys.

great narrator

With audiobooks a good story can be ruined and a mediocre one enhanced. This narrator was excellent.

A Good First Book

While I understand that this is only the first book I can't help but wish there had been more world building given through the course of the book. There s a rather unclear mixture of technology and magic in the form of artifacts. While I didn't find the story to be anything I would call uniquecially original, I never the less found it entertaining. The book did seem to go by fairly quickly but that could be due to it being just under 8 hours while I an used to books considerably longer. The narrator's voice is pleasing to listen to and rather soothing. I will probably read the second book just to see if there is more world building and if the store can capture my attention. Something it really hasn't accomplished yet.
