Publisher's summary

John Devonte knows women and wargear. And now he gets to combine the two...all in the name of saving the world.

John Devonte looked to the outskirts of the Draconic Empire for refuge. After adventuring for the past two decades–hunting monsters and collecting coin–he thought the town of Vismuth would provide some solace.

Except what he discovered there was the beginning of the end. The Deadlands have come to life, and out of them pour bestial creatures that will devour all in their path.

Luckily for John, he’s discovered that he’s a True Dragon. Not only that, but he can use the magic of Soul Gems, and with them, create his Wargear out of the beautiful women who fight alongside him.

every Epic Fantasy some good smash but let's take it easy on the R-rated and focus more on the action. Great book keep it coming

Dante King does it again

This is the first book in what is looking like a wonderful new series from Dante King. I have read several of this author’s books, and believe that this is some of his best writing. In addition, the dual narration was fantastic each voice being distinct and dynamic.
If you like this genre you will want to buy this audiobook.

good start

I thought the story and character interactions were good. I understand that withholding info can aid in intrigue but I feel we were denied info about the world and situation. I do not mind filling in some blanks.
with the great narration and unique premise of the story I will definitely get vol 2

Fun and gripping!

I wasn't expecting a harem style adventure based off the sample, but a very fun adventure, and very well described. I could almost feel the adventure as I listened along. Very good story!

OK Story but be aware it has X rated events

was looking for a good sifi fantasy book to listen to on a long drive. this book was on sale. the summary and sample sounded good.

The story started out well and had some real potential. then about 2 or 3 hours in the hero started having explicit sex with multiple women. all were described in depth.

To me this took away from what could have been a really good story

The same tired sexist strawman villains, political filler

If the a bad guy is a male, you can bet that they will be twisted into some straw-man sexist archetype. They’re thinly veiled tools meant to offend and then used to preach the same tired political sermons at you over and over again.

The voice acting is good and there are some interesting beginnings to story elements and characters, so I have to give it that recognition.

Please learn that there are different villain archetypes, and that every book doesn’t need to be designed around making the MC politically white knight the entire time. If they’re honestly comfortable with their beliefs, they shouldn’t need to constantly justify them. Just have your MC be a good person. Their actions should set the example, not their sermons or the preaching from other chars.
