About this listen

Horror author C. Dennis Moore (author of The Third Floor and Revelations) takes you to the streets of Camdigan, a town literally in the middle of nowhere, the place where the dead come to live.

David has wound up there by accident, but a chance encounter with a little girl brings him face to face with the wife he lost years ago. Now he'll do anything to get out of Camdigan, and Camdigan will do anything to keep David there.

"Lost Highway" Updated As Horror~

What did you love best about Camdigan?

It was much more than horror. It appealed to me as a mystery, a road trip fiasco, a coming-of-age story, and fantasy, with a side road of porn offered up like dessert. I couldn't figure out if the author was simply just madly brewing up the ghost of Alfred Hitchcock's movie The Birds or conducting a hellish lab experiment bubbling from the reborn mind of the legendary master of suspense!

What did you like best about this story?

Really easy to see what was happening and feel David's frustration and determination. That voice kept me rooting for him and Rose.

What three words best describe Curt Campbell’s voice?

Curt is inarguably cool with male voices, but can't convince as a female. This makes the females sound almost alien or maybe transgender. Weird, anyway.

Who was the most memorable character of Camdigan and why?

David, of course, but I loved the minister's nickname of Pastor Ghoul.

Any additional comments?

I wondered why David didn't just kill himself, or drown himself, if he wanted to be with Rose so badly and she couldn't leave Camdigan. Is he supposed to be a Jesus figure going down to hell for a visit to rescue Mary Magdalene who had died? That would make sense if she hadn't been reborn...
