About this listen

New York Times best-selling author Gena Showalter is back with a sizzling Original Heartbreakers tale about an icy war vet and the only woman capable of melting him....

With trust issues a mile long, Ryanne Wade has sworn off men. Then Jude Laurent walks into her bar, and all bets are off. The former army ranger has suffered unimaginably, first being maimed in battle, then losing his wife and daughters to a drunk driver. Making the brooding widower smile is priority one. Resisting him? Impossible.

For Jude, Ryanne is off-limits. And yet the beautiful bartender who serves alcohol to potential motorists tempts him like no other. When a rival bar threatens her livelihood - and her life - he can't turn away. She triggers something in him he thought long buried, and he's determined to protect her, whatever the cost.

As their already scorching attraction continues to heat, the damaged soldier knows he must let go of his past to hold on to his future...or risk losing the second chance he desperately needs.

Another fantastic installment!

Showalter did it again! Can’t let go is another fantastic addition to the original heartbreakers series. Fingers crossed that there will be another one soon for Brock and Lindy. As much as I love Showalter’s fantasy fiction novels, her romance novels never disappoint.

Need more Closure!

I love the Original Heartbreaker series, but I just feel we don't get enough closure at the ending of the book. I absolute love the connection between all the males in this series. Jase,West and Beck, followed up with Daniel, Jude and Brock is a bond that I really admire and the women are pretty amazing, as well. I only wish the women would give into their love and passion earlier in the book, instead 30 minutes before the ending. I was hoping to hear more of their happily ever after in this book as it would have been nice to see Jude react to his new family and allow us the reader see the name that would be added to his banner.

The resistance of the women comes off whiny after a while and it seems to drag on way too long. Let the reader enjoy a little more of the story after they give into their love. I would have loved to hear more about Daniel's wedding and Jude's new family, and I am hoping we get this in the next book about Brock. Overall, I loved the series and was so invested in these people and wanted to them find their happy every after with each other.
