About this listen

An alien prince, a threatened throne, and the human mate who can help him save it.

Lucas.

Sure, my life isn’t going exactly according to plan - I have a degree that led nowhere, a crappy job as a closing-shift barista, and an ex who has everything I want and got it by dumping myself - but that doesn’t mean I’m willing to give up on living yet! And, holy crap, when I’m plucked off the sidewalk of my rural Colorado town on the very night of my ex’s wedding, I’m pretty damn sure I’m about to lose my life and a whole lot more.

If you’ve never tried flying, I do not recommend the first time be when you’re drunk and alone at two in the morning. But, there I was, dumped in a cage on a spacecraft, surrounded by barbarous, giant blue aliens. And, the only thing that might keep me safe is there’s one huge, intimidating warrior who can’t keep his eyes off me.

Kaelum.

I am the true-born son of the King Xyren the Imperator, but as a Thorzi-human hybrid, my path to the throne of Thorzan is far from clear. My father’s people are enormous and foreboding, their skin is the deep dark of twilight when our planet’s twin stars set. I am not. My enemies think I am small, soft, incapable, and they dog my every step.

If I am to take my rightful place, I must focus on saving my people. But, my mother was born on a far-away blue planet called Earth. In my bones, I know the answer to my problems hides out there beyond the stars.

By popular cowriting duo Sam Burns and W. M. Fawkes, Captured is an M/M sci-fi alien romance with a warrior prince, a resourceful human at the end of his rope, an intergalactic war that could keep them apart forever, and true love that’s entirely out of this world! This audiobook is first in the Star Marked Warriors series, but each audiobook can be listened to as stand-alone.

This is a great story. This genre has many cheesy, terrible alien abduction/sex slave stories that are badly written. This is not those stories. It's well done with good character development plus hot alien sexy times. Can't wait for the next one to come out on audio!

Michael Fell is a new-to-me narrator and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance!

Fun read. Loved the wit of the author. Very natural and funny, and enhanced the simple story line. The relationship between the two mains was sweet. I didn't quite understand why they hadn't just taken what they had learned to the king instead of taking matters into fjord own hands, but it worked for the story.

Michael Fell is a new-to-me narrator and while it’s not perfect, he certainly did a great job bringing this story to life.

A sweet low-angst sci fi romance is something we didn’t know we need!

Now off to listen to the next one in this series.

Sweet Sci Fi Romance

This story is great. A lot of somewhat corny interactions, but overall the interactions are natural. I did feel the story rather short and find it just slightly concerning that Lucas didn’t try to see his friends after coming to the new planet and being separated.

3.5 rounded up - the story improved around the 70% mark, but I wasn't particularly engaged until then. I enjoyed the end, and I think I'll jump to the third book to hear more about Kaelum's brother since the stories are standalone books.

Pretty good in the latter part of the book

The very best collaboration of storyline, narration. Fun, witty, romantic. I hope we see more of Jax and his star shine Wesley!!!

Great story!

I’ve been on a major MM alien kick for the first time…ever. And while I prefer books that are a tad bit more fluffy (with a little grayer on the consent aspect), this captured my attention. However, the first time I attempted reading it, it ended up being a DNF. It felt heavier reading the book than it did listening to it. I think Lucas’ sense of humor came through a little better with Michael Fell’s narration than it did in the written version. Yes, there’s drama (and a bad guy or two), but a HEA and some steamy action to round it all out. My only complaint with the audiobook version is that Kaelum’s “inner voice”and Lucas’ “inner voice” were so similar that I couldn’t tell who was “thinking” at the moment. I had to go by the fact that Kaelum’s pattern of speech was, well, alien. But if not for that, it was confusing. I’m not sure why Mr. Fell would make them sound the same when their speaking voices were markedly different. But, oh well. I’ll be continuing on with the second audiobook in the series, for sure!

Little bit confusing audio, but a good listen
