WHO WILL CLAIM THE TOWER?

After the near-destruction of the High Halls, Corporal Kaylin Neya is looking forward to resuming her patrol. But once more an empty Tower stands in Elantra, and Kaylin's companions won't let an advantage slip by. They see the Tower as a base to fight Shadow; the Dragon Bellusdeo, as a protection for the cohort; Sedarias, as a potential hoard. And others are interested as well.

Kaylin knows when she's in over her head. Claiming a Tower is not the future she wants. And the Tower has strict requirements—ones that daunt even the Dragons and the Barrani. But as the various factions strategize, the Shadows are making their own plans. They still want to cross into Elantra, and this might be the perfect chance.

Great addition to the series!

Fans of the Elantra series will love this new edition. Sagara never disappoints her readers.

The story continues

I have been reading this series from the beginning and have only one complaint. To long between books.

Loved them all

Started with book one and listened through Conflict. As the credits are spoke, I think to myself, I’m going to do this again in a few years. Maybe upon second and third listens I will be able to grasp more of the complex Wordverse and not want to punch a dragon or two. There are so many potential storylines from here. I hope my positives intentions to write faster reach Sagara and her keyboard with profound results.

Engrossing as always!

I love the books by Michelle Sahara. The Elantra series is one I binge on over and over. However, this is the latest one following Kaylin and her friends. Bellisario, the dragon who was Queen on her lost world, looks for ways to continue to fight the darkness. However, she grapples with being the last female dragon and her species’ need for her to reproduce. The story is rich in detail. I need a narrator so I can focus on the story and Khristine Hvam is excellent! This is a story for YA and adults due to the reading level.

wow needs repeated listens

We got to know more about the shadows and Ravellon in this volume. I also really like that Bellusdeo's journey took a giant step in this volume
Ever since I read the second Severn's book( Sword and Shadow)I've been rereading the whole series and appreciating them even more
When I listen to this book the first time I just wanted to know what happened and focused on following the story about the tower and the struggle to master(?) it The second time around, I listened to it more carefully and discovered details that I've missed the first time. It just seems that in all her stories, every time I listen to them there are new discoveries, new ways of understanding the threads and I never get tired of listening to them. Of course the narrator being so very good at voicing all the different characters are an excellent plus.

Poor Story no progress really

16 books in and still Kaylin is the most obtuse person ever. she does not learn, she does not listen and clearly makes little to no effort in either case.. The girl seriously needs to learn to just shut the hell up and do as she's told once in awhile. 16 books in and she has yet to learn anything or attempt to learn anything about being Chosen or how to actually use her marks. We are yet again also subjected to a book in which a good half is tied up with Kaylins feelings, her self doubts and how how everyone thinks she's dumb (which she is).

We still no nothing about Hope aside from the scraps that we are given. You'd think by now we could get some details on him but nope.

I'd give this book 2.5 stars but that's not allowed so ill go 3

A great addition

I loved this book. This series has been very long, but I can honestly say that I still enjoy it. This addition to the series focuses on building friendships and repairing relationships. Kaylin is still the main focus but you get to learn more about the 12 and some of Kaylin’s name bound. You also see plenty of character development in both major and minor characters as well as the main character.

I was excited to hear/read the main plot pushed forward and several lingering subplots get addressed. We also got to hear/read more about shadow and some of the various other races that are still kicking around both in and out of the fiefs. The focus on friendship and what it means to the various characters was my absolute favorite part though.

I love this series. I don’t love every book equally but this one was amazing. I am sorry it is over and I will have to wait a year until I get to hear/read more about this world and Kaylin’s adventures.

Closure

Closure and growth. I have been waiting for this one for a while. I understand growth needs to happen. But I have zero patience. This book closed a few doors for me and opens more.
