About this listen

Seattle Spice Shop owner Pepper Reece probes murder while juggling a troubled employee, her mother's house hunt, and a fisherman who's set his hook for her.

As owner of the Spice Shop in Seattle's famed Pike Place Market, Pepper Reece is always on the go. Between conjuring up new spice blends and serving iced spice tea to customers looking to beat the summer heat, she finally takes a break for a massage. But the zen moment is shattered when she overhears an argument in her friend Aimee's vintage home decor shop that ends in murder.

Wracked by guilt over her failure to intervene, Pepper investigates, only to discover a web of deadly connections that could ensnare a friend - and Pepper herself.

PEPPER IS BACK!

I REALLY ENJOY THIS SERIES AND HOPE TO SEE MORE DEVELOPMENT OF SOME OF THE FLICK-CHICK MEMBERS, WITHOUT DIMINISHING PEPPER'S ROLE. THEN THERE IS NATE - MORE PLEASE. I ALSO LOVE THE HISTORICAL SNAPSHOTS STREWN THROUGHOUT THE STORY. I ALREADY NEED MORE PEPPER!

So sweet and engaging!

I love the story, the characters, the narrator…everything. Well, except now having a never ending desire to visit Seattle;)

Fun Trip into Seattle Marketplace 😋

The fourth in the Spice Shop Mysteries is just as good as the first three. Pepper is rethinking her relationship with her hunky fisherman and trying to decide if a long distance relationship will work. I love the atmosphere and descriptions of the Seattle Pike Place market, the interactions between the merchants and getting to know Pepper's employees. When Pepper visits a friend's shop for a massage, she overhears an argument and then a shot is fired. Another dead body . . . and no answers. Pepper sets out to find a killer and in the process learns a lot about the people in her little community. Great listen!

good story, poor narrator

I love these books and was excited to listen to a new b one after a long wait. The story was still good, the author is so descriptive of the Market, she makes me want to get on a plane tomorrow. However the narrator just wasn't good. She mispronounced several words badly. In dialogue, I had a difficulty differentiating between the characters at times. I still enjoyed the story.

A great read once when I got used to the narrator’s voice…looking forward to the others in this series
