About this listen

We're the D'Artigo sisters: Half-human, half-Faerie, we are savvy - and sexy - operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But our mixed-blood heritage short-circuits our talents at all the wrong times. My sister Camille is a wicked-good witch whose magic is as unpredictable as the weather. My sister Menolly is a vampire trying to get the hang of being undead. And me? I'm Delilah. When I'm under stress, I transform into a tabby cat - and a series of violent murders is really getting me bent out of shape...Someone's been slaughtering the Weres of the Rainier Puma Pride, and my sisters and I have been enlisted to investigate by Zachary Lyonnesse, golden boy of the werepumas.

Right away we smelled demon trouble, and we tracked it directly into the snare of the Hunters Moon Clan, sworn enemies of Puma Pride. But there's more than Were rivalry at work. It's that old demon Shadow Wing who's setting a deadly snare for the Pumas. We have to find out why, which means a visit to one of the Immortals. Unfortunately for my sisters and me, our half-human blood is just enough to put us in mortal danger.

Critic reviews

"Along with the quirky humor and characters readers have come to expect is a moving tale of a woman more comfortable in her cat skin than in her human form, looking to find her place in the world." ( Booklist)
"Vivid, sexy and mesmerizing." ( Romantic Times Magazine)

Liked it, but......

I had to struggle with my rating, because the book was better than a 3 so I didn't think it was fair to rate it a 3 because I struggled with the character point of view. The first book was told from one sister's perspective and now this one switches. It took me AWHILE to get used to that, but overall the story was good and I enjoyed the book.

Anther Great story in this series!

loved it! this book was from the view of the sister who is a ware-cat. I think it took me only 2 and a half days to get through this one. The narrator did a awesome job and I think there might have been a 2nd for the other sisters voices. I'm so excited to listen to the next book and how the 3rd sister handles the next life or death situation!

Like witches? Werecats? Vampires? How about trolls, fairies, unicorns and dragons? this series has them all in a really fun and exciting story I couldn't put down. Can't wait for the next installment -- Yasmine Galenorn get's better with every book, and so does the reader.

enjoyable series

I am enjoying this series a great deal. I like how the author gives each sister a book to tell their part of the story and thst the characters are carried through out the series. That said Deliah is my least favorite character, which makes her books less enjoyable. She is a very whiny. selfish individual who has no self control. I could do without all the litterb talk as well. Great series and well written books. But Deliah needs to get s grip and stop being a selfish brat

Delilah becomes her own!

It was wonderful to see Delilah come into her own. Facing her destiny
, finding herself, and discovering the new talents she handled it well. Learning how not to be as scared and disdiscovering she too is powerful made me enjoy getting to know her character better. Can't wait to gwt to the next book!!!

Unfocused and Underdeveloped

I can count on one hand the books I could not finish, but this one added to that number. I made it 75% of the way through before I could take it no more. It felt like the author was trying to use every mythological and fantastical reference she knew into the book. The result was a scattered mythos with no focal point for the story to be framed around. There were were-everythings, a dragon, witch, vampire, elves, the Moon Mother, Coyote Grandmother, Egyptian goddess Bastet, references to Norse mythology, and the list goes on. There was no real romance because the characters were working on collecting many lovers over their years. The main character, who was supposed to be a rather mature adult, read like angst-ridden teenager who kept telling her sisters she was all grown up now, though she did not demonstrate any independence – at least not in the first 75% of the book. The narration, at least, was decent but there is little I can actually recommend about this book.
