About this listen

We're the D'Artigo sisters: Half-human, half-Faerie, we are savvy - and sexy - operatives for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. But our mixed-blood heritage short-circuits our talents at all the wrong times. My sister Delilah shapeshifts into a tabby cat whenever she's stressed. Menolly's a vampire who is still trying to get the hang of being undead. And me? I'm Camille - a wicked-good witch. Except my magic is as unpredictable as the weather, which my enemies are about to find out the hard way.

At the Wayfarer Inn, a portal to Otherworld and the local hangout for humans and beasties alike, a fellow operative, Jocko, has been murdered. Every clue points to Shadow Wing, the soul-munching, badass leader of the Subterranean Realms. He has made it clear that he aims to raze humankind to the ground. Our assignment: Keep Shadow Wing and his minions from creeping into Earth via the Wayfarer. The demons figure they're in like Flynn. After all, with only my bumbling sisters and me standi g in the way, how can they miss? But we've got a secret for them: Faulty wiring or not, nobody kicks ass like the D'Artigo girls.

Shallow

This book had a promising concept and I am sorry the author took it in this direction. I do not think I will be purchasing the other novels in the series. It seemed like she was more focused on describing the panties the characters were wearing rather than developing the story and keeping the reader interested.

Really its 3.5 Stars

I read the reviews on this book so I was a bit skeptical. The story line is gripping, and I do want to see what happens in the next book. With that said this books writing is a bit choppy, at one moment the author is poetic and then whip lashes into the drama. The reader, while she has a very pretty voice, some what sing song, she reads very dreamily even in the action scenes, which is a bit off putting. I hope this helps.

This was a fantastic book!!!

This is a great begining to a hopefully equally great series. The narrator did a saw some job with all the different characters and it was hard to, as they say, put the book down. If your a sci-fi/fantasy or paranormal fan you will love this book. It reminds me of the Sookie series.

otherworld, book 1 witchling

Good book with lots of potential!! Good story line with lots of action and magical fun. Great characters that you really feel like you could be friends with. But I did not really care for the narrator.

Captivating First Book

If you love authors like Charlaine Harrison, Laurell K Hamilton and Kim Harrison you will love the universe that this author creates. The characters are intriguing and more complicated than they first seem to be. The plot will have you laughing, gasping, sitting on the edge of your seat and have you begging for more. I found myself very sleep deprived until I finished listening haha. I can not wait for the other books in this series.

Ugh!!!

This is the third book in a row, where the characters in a book just didn't excite me. I must be on a roll. I didn't care for the romance in this book either, well if you can call it that. There was more than one man involved with the heroine and they all seemed okay with it. I won't be continuing on with this series. I had hoped it would be funnier, but it wasn't. What the story had going for it was there was some action and a lot of Lore. Unfortunately the story seemed a bit choppy, this didn't bother me too bad if only I had actually cared for the characters I might have continue with the series. Narrator was good, I have enjoyed her work in the past.

Exciting, Fun & Enlightening!

Where does Witchling rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This books ranks at the top of the many Audio Books I have listened to. This is one you'll want to stay up all night to hear what's coming next!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Witchling?

The "Aha!" moments were so much fun...especially with The Dragon...

What does Cassandra Campbell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Cassandra's voice and expression really create the mood for this story. You'll want to have her be your BFF. She is fun, flip, yet serious when called for. She makes it a "Sex & The City of Fae"!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The author puts us through the gamut of emotions in this story...laughing at the characters' sense of fun, worrying about their vulnerabilities, and celebrating with them in their triumphs.

Any additional comments?

A huge part of the atmosphere of this story is derived from the fun & fantasy descriptions of the three sisters' "fashions" as well as their attitudes and susceptibilities. The narrator totally sets the scene with her delivery of the action, emotions and details. I hope to hear more of this series in audio form soon!
