About this listen

What started as a bet can only end in heartache.

Moving to the middle of nowhere right before my senior year wasn't ideal. Then again, neither was my brother dying.

The move was supposed to be a fresh start. A new town, a new school, a new mindset. Too bad my past indiscretions followed me.

Enter Jace Rivera, the literal boy next door. Jace is loved by the town. Admired by his peers. Worshipped by his teammates. On the basketball court, he's a god amongst men. Off the court, he's… nothing at all like I expected.

He's profound and pure and… devastatingly tortured. Yet somehow, he offers me light while I offer him hope.

In the end, we'll either hurt or heal each other. There's no in-between.

"Pain is the price we pay for love," he once told me.

And a broken heart is the consequence of it.

ONE OF THE BEST LISTENS

This audio is perfection in your ears. The narrators both hit these emotions and tones in the best ways. I felt like I was in this story while listening to it!

I am obsessed with anything Jay writes! I read the first few chapters of this book in the Hit Me With Your Best Shot Anthology, and I already loved Jace and Harlow. Getting their full story was something that was unexpected and one of the best books I have read.
I don't usually read YA, but when Jay releases a new book, I am all for it. She is the exception!

Jace and Harlow feel an instant connection to one another, and you can feel it from the pages. These two will make you feel everything. I can't even tell you how many emotions I went through while reading this book.

Jace is a bit of a mystery, and he will get your interest and hold it through this story. I don't know that I have loved a character more. Jace will steal your heart even when you want to be mad at him.
Harlow is the girl next door, and I loved her! She has some things that keep her guarded, and she doesn't let people in. But Jace is different. I loved her healing and growth through this story.

I adored them and their chemistry. This is a book I didn't want to end. I am still thinking about these two and their love.

There is not a character Jay writes that would not love. And she writes teen angst that will leave you in all your feelings. I FELT IT ALL WHEN READING THIS BOOK!
