About this listen

From New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby comes an all-new Small Town, Friends to Lovers, Law Enforcement romance.

Summer Quinn’s life changed five years ago when she walked in on her boyfriend and her best friend in bed together. She silently left, ghosting both of them, and never looked back. She came to Bitterroot Valley, looking for a fresh start, and that’s exactly what she got.

After purchasing the local floral shop from her eccentric aunt and finding herself again in the absolute delight she brought to the community, Summer feels welcome and safe in her new home.

But things have started to happen. At first, she could blow it off as bad luck, or kids starting trouble. But then the bad luck turns into serious, life-threatening incidents that can’t be ignored.

Bitterroot Valley is Chase Wild’s town. His family settled the area almost a hundred and fifty years ago, and as a police officer, Chase takes pride in keeping his community safe. Sure, he’s had his eye on the gorgeous florist since she moved to town, but he’s kept his relationship with her strictly professional.

Now, someone’s trying to scare Summer. She claims she doesn’t know why, but Chase is determined to get to the bottom of it and drive the danger out of his town. As time passes, and the more he gets to know Summer, the harder it is to keep his hands off of the beautiful woman. With their connection growing, he’s falling in love with her and will do anything to keep her safe.

As Chase learns the truth of who is threatening Summer, will he be able to protect her, and will their love withstand the challenges ahead?

Chasing Wild is a standalone, contemporary romance novel, and book two in the picturesque Wilds of Montana series.

My favorite book so far

I really did love this book. It’s nice that the author doesn’t have someone kidnapped in every book, it was definitely interesting without it. I loved it so much I’m going to start the next book now!

Ticked all my boxes

I loved the first book in The Wilds of Montana Series and I was excited to see where Ms Proby was going to take us with the rest of the series, well all I need to say is Chasing Wildfire is the perfect addition to what looks like a hit series. This is police officer Chase Wild and local florist shop owner Summer’s entertaining, mysterious and emotional journey.
If you love small town romance look no further than this book.
Stella Hunter and Connor Crais did a wonderful job bringing the characters and their story to life. They were spot on with the emotion and the passion and they were also very easy to listen to.
Summer has moved to Bitterroot Valley after finding her boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend. Looking for a fresh start she fulfills her dream by opening a florist shop in the uptown she spent so many happy childhood summers. She is in the middle of a busy wedding season and arranging the flowers for Remington and Erin’s wedding when someone try’s to break into her house and that’s where Chase comes in. Chase installs top of the range security cameras but mysterious things like graffiti keep happening to Summer. As he spends time with her they get closer and it’s not long before a relationship forms but that’s when things get dangerous as the stalker ups his game….
So can he keep the love of his life safe, one click to find out.
This book touched me on so many levels, I fell hard and fast for Chase, Summer is the girl I would love in my corner and I was captivated by the story Ms Proby wove but what took this book to the next level was catching up with some of my all time favourite characters from the first books I ever read by this author at Erin and Remington’s wedding. Loved everything about this book and I highly recommend you one click this gem. Can’t wait for my next visit to Bitterroot Valley, Montana.

Story was good

The storyline was great! The foul language almost had me just turning it off. It may not bother some people but for me, I’m like why. It doesn’t add to the story, it only makes me upset. Foul language does not make things look great. It does not make anyone sound great. To me, it only makes people look uneducated and ridiculous. It’s not needed in so many situations.

The story line, though, was great. The only thing that I have a hard time with (other than the language) is the fact that when the female narrator was reading stuff Chase was saying, it was so low, I couldn’t hear what was said.

Wilder Brothers series

The overall story is good. I had to suspend judgment a few times with a female character who was supposed to be strong and bad ass, yet allowing Chase to call her "Blondie" irked me to no end. I also tried to give Chase the benefit of the doubt as a cop trying to be sensitive, which as someone who has worked with cops, I think Connor Crais portrayed accurately even if I lost patience with the MML at times too.

I had to suspend judgment at the end with Evan as well. Like it was already established he was a dirt bag and not to be trusted, then the MFL lead goes off down the block with him!? I was expecting an abduction frankly. The dog Lily stole the show for me.

Connor Crais and Stella Hunter played off each other very well. Timing was spot on and Stella Hunter does male voices SO well! I love that Connor doesn't force a female voice. which actually is more effective.

There is open door sex scenese for anyone who is sensitive to that content.

TRIGGER WARNING for abuse and stalking.

What a way to bring the swoon to life!

The swoon is even greater in audio. That could be my review of this book. Because Stella and Connor reach that perfect mix of sweet, heartwarming, and sexy!

When Summer first came to Bitterroot Valley looking for a fresh start, Chase asked her out, but she shut him down. She wasn’t in the right headspace for a relationship. So they’ve remained friends… except it’s not enough for either of them.
I’m a huge Connor Crais fan, I think everyone knows this. And he knows how to bring both the sweet and the protective side that Chase has in spades, all while bringing the hotness factor.

This was my first Stella Hunter book! I loved Summer as a character and how she takes charge of her life and destiny, all while wearing her heart on her sleeve and being so helpful and open with others. Stella was the perfect Summer!

They’re both attracted to each other and it’s so seamless. From that very first date to the things he does for her so she knows he’s close. So she knows he cares. Even the way he dotes on her dog tells you he’s in for the long haul.

When Summer is in danger because someone in their small town is coming for her for reasons unknown, Chase is there. He brings her to his house. He wants her safe and protected, but most of all, he wants her with him. And you’ll love protective, growly Connor, ready to fight whoever it is for her just as much as you’ll love Stella’s spirit, ready to save herself and fight for what they have.

This book is super sweet and the sexy times are steamy, open, and honest in writing. In audio, they felt very real. The way Connor becomes Chase in his want for Summer, the way Stella becomes Summer when she owns her desire for him. So. Good.

You get to see all his brothers, including Rem from the previous book, and Connor really has a knack for doing very distinct voices. And Stella… her male voice is to die for, and the way she gave me every emotion got me all smiley.
A wonderful audiobook with narrators who brought the swoon to life.

Small Town Romance

This Audiobook was a good palate cleanser from my dark romance. Summer is a florist in this small town, and Chase is a police officer. They start as friends, but things turn romantic after Summer experiences a series of threats. These two were great at communicating until the end. Why would Summer not tell Chase about her dinner? I found it annoying, but I enjoyed the slow buildup and suspenseful plot.
