About this listen

“Hands down a standing ovation from me!”—Suzanne Park, author of So We Meet Again, on Here for the Drama

A Most Anticipated Book of the Season by Goodreads, Distractify and Biblio Lifestyle!

When an American interning at a fashion house in Rome butts heads with her professor's surly son, sparks fly!

With her thirties rapidly approaching and a mountain of student debt looming over her, Violet Luciano’s dream of finishing design school and working in fashion has cost her everything. So when she lands an internship at an up-and-coming fashion brand in Rome, she brings her A game to Italy. With nothing left to lose, Violet plans to win the competition among the interns for the ultimate prize—a job at a New York label.

But when a coffee run goes wrong and Violet accidentally destroys a stranger’s laptop, all of the apology Americanos in the world won’t help her. Because it turns out that the man from the café is Matteo, her professor’s eternally grumpy son, who thinks she’s a clumsy American…and maybe a stalker. Their animosity (and undeniable chemistry) grows as together they’re forced to face a summer of chic parties, adventures through Rome and sharing a home…with the person they can’t stand the most.

The more time she spends with him, the more distracted she finds herself. With her chance to win the competition slipping out of her grasp, Violet has to decide whether to say ciao to Matteo—or ciao to her dreams.

Take me back to Roma!

This second chance... at a career kept me wanting more and more! I loved the dynamic between all the characters. I was visualizing all the fashion in my minds eye - and the finale runway show - WOW! I loved every moment of this book and made me want to hop on a plane to Rome.

Narrator: Great!
Spicy: Low-Moderate

A rom com love story done right!

I really liked Violetta. She was a very realistic character with insecurities, aspirations, and humor. I enjoyed her and Matteo’s love story. Some of the side characters and dialogue were abit cartoonish and cheesy but it’s to be expected with the genre. Still there was a clear and meaningful message to the story beyond just the romance and I thought that was done well too.

Loved this story

Wished this was one more chapter, an epilogue, just to see a bit more of the future. But I loved that they all got the happy endings they deserved!

Really nice if you miss Rome

That was really fun amd exactly what I needed, I just got back from Rome and miss it already and I wanted to get back there even if through page
The story is about Violette, she is a student in a fashion designer major and she is so good that she gets a scolarship to participate in a designing competition where the winner will get a very brighy future in Rome, the city of fashion, so on her first day in Rome she meets Matt, and it was hate at first sight, but little did they know they will be stuck together since Matt is the son of the designer who is judging the competition, and sparks will fly between them in Rome
the book was fun to read and it had a cutr story, there some over the top scenes which made me laugh out loud ( Violette prank was hilarious) but there were scenes I felt unnecessary drama .. it was a nice book overall
