About this listen
Bo Tully, sheriff of Blight County, Idaho, has dealt with small-town crime throughout his long, storied career. Now, contemplating retirement after years on the job, Tully is faced with perhaps his most perplexing case yet. When area bald eagles start getting picked off by a ghost-like killer, and when a prominent local rancher is murdered by an arrow with eagle fletching, things gets complicated fast. In this fast-paced whodunit, Tully has a vast array of suspects to choose from, including the rancher's gorgeous, bird-loving wife, who mysteriously leaves for a ranch in Mexico the day of the murder; the beautiful chef at the local house of ill repute, who is well-known as a budding ornithologist; and the ranch foreman, who is rumored to be having an affair with his boss's widow.
Will Tully put the pieces of the puzzle together, yet again? Will sending his dad, the former sheriff of Blight County, along with his number two man, down to Mexico help solve the mystery? And what about the mysterious large circles in the snow that Tully finds around the ranch, with no footprints leading in or out of the area?
It all adds up to another engrossing series of twists and turns. And in the end, Tully gets his man… or woman… or does he?

For more than 20 years, Heavey has staked a claim as one of America's best sportsmen writers. In feature stories and his Field & Stream column A Sportsman's Life, he has taken audiences across the country and beyond to experience his triumphs and failures as a suburban dad who happens to love hunting and fishing. This new collection gathers together a wide range of his best work - tales that are odes to the notion that enthusiasm is more important than skill and testaments to the enduring power of the natural world.

My life was ordinary until three years ago when I was thrown out of a downtown hotel window. My name is Robbie Brownlaw, and I am a homicide detective for the city of San Diego. I am 29 years old. I now have synesthesia, a neurological condition where your senses get mixed up. Sometimes when people talk to me, I see their voices as colored shapes provoked by the emotions of the speakers, not by the words themselves. I have what amounts to a primitive lie detector.

A Finale To The Sherriff Bo Tully Series...Maybe
Where does Circles in the Snow rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
somewhere in the middle. There were some pretty obvious story loopholes that exist in this book and that distracted from the story. The over-arching story of Sherriff Bo Tully does come to what could be a reasonable conclusion here however.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The larger Bo Tully story over the actual murder mystery itself. As stated, without giving too much away, this could be the final Sherriff Bo Tully mystery. The murder is given an almost "by the way" kind of attention and is not definitively resolved
Which character – as performed by Peter Coleman – was your favorite?
Bo is the obvious choice. Although Peter performs him a bit generically and it loses some of the characters unique charm.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Is This The End Of Sheriff Bo Tully?
Any additional comments?
The story has some weird inconsistencies. Etta is referenced by Bo as a psychic when in previous books he is adamant that she is not. She also seems much older here. Dave, a key player before is not seen at all. Pap also seems uncharacteristically nicer here. The cause of the title "Circles In The Snow" is just weird and seems way out of place...well maybe it does fit with the very odd Blight County, but....

Great book, crappy narrator!
First let me say that I ADORE this series, it is witty and smart with lovable, hilarious characters. Which is why it is that much worse that they've replaced the previous not one, not two, but THREE, very exceptional narrators with one that does no justice to the LAST 2 books in the series. This series has had three narrators: book one had a gentleman that did a wonderful job breathing life into the characters. He was followed by another stellar narrator that captured the wit, charm and soul of books 2 & 3. This lovely narrator was then replaced with what would be the last decent narrator of the series for the reading of book 4.
I HATE it when characters you know and love are suddenly replaced with new voices, like we wouldn't notice! This isn't "DOCTOR WHO" so replacing voices of beloved characters, especially with a crappie one, DOESN'T WORK! While I hate to have any exceptional narrator replaced, at least the second & third narrators ended up being as great as the first. That is NOT THE CASE with the narrator of books 5 & 6!
Audible would be doing this series a great service if it would re-record the final 2 books using a narrator that is up to the task of capturing the joy and souls of the books! What SHOULD have been an easy 4-5 star 🌟 book is now a 3. And that leaves me very SAD 😔. Audible, you OWE us fans a "redo" of the final two books in this series!!! It's really the least you can do for us.....

The Final Problem, Bo Tully Style
This was Pat McManus’ swan song and although is isn’t as rollickingly funny as some of Bo’s earlier exploits it is amusing and fun, a very enjoyable listen. As the author approached retirement, so does Sheriff Tully. Confronted with one more vexing murder case, Bo balances right versus wrong, sells a watercolor that encourages him to go back to becoming a full time artist, and gets the girl at the end. He also decides to become a Private Investigator, which tells me the author hoped to come back to Blight County some day. A suitable conclusion to one of my favorite mystery series ever.

BO TULLY
This is another Book about Bo Tully and life in Blight County. This is an excellent series. I love how They work together. All the friendly Banter keeps it interesting. Bo's Dad plays an important part. Also other strong characters. This is the last book but they don't have to read in order. But it's best to. Peter Coleman does an excellent job narrating this book. Still Good, But Not Great
Although another reviewer spoiled the mystery, I read this novel anyway since I enjoyed the author's other works. This book was a bit different in that some of the characters I liked from past books were not in this one. For example, Pap was used as a tracker with no mention of Dave. I suppose the author is retiring the character although there is an opening to continue the series. The book did have the usual humor in it which made it worth reading. I hope Bo Tully returns with a new adventure as I already miss him.

Even though it is a murder mystery, I found "Circles in the Snow" to be a lighter story, with funny quips throughout. I really enjoyed the book.
