Disaster strikes as Heather takes a fatal taste of Benjy’s dish. Determined to clear Benjy's name—and her own—Jackie relies on her wits and the unique skills of her friends and family. The kitchen timer is ticking as Jackie races to bring the killer to justice before her own goose is cooked.

5 stars

The beginning of this book was a bit choppy. The villain was stereotypical and annoying. However, once the villain was dealt with, the story progressed nicely. The characters were engaging, and the mystery well-written. I look forward to the next book.

Riveting Murder Mystery

This “who done it” kept me guessing until the end. And as somewhat of a foodie myself, I loved all the food references and descriptions of the festival entries. I look forward to listening to the next novel in this series.
I especially enjoyed the excellent narrator, who was able to give distinctive nuances to all of the characters.

Good mystery!

Claws of Death is the first in the Fatal Food Festival Mysteries series by Cathy Wiley. Jackie Norwood is a recovering former food network star chef. Fresh out of rehab, she’s trying to rebuild her reputation by judging at a small crab festival. Her bad luck continues to haunt her as the someone gets poisoned at the tasting! After being suspected, she and her friends start sleuthing! The narration by Anne Marie Lewis is excellent. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.

Soup to Die For

Claws of Death is book 1 in the Fatal Food Festival Mysteries by Cathy Wiley. I felt that this cozy was such a good book. The characters are interesting and the narrator, Anne Marie Lewis, gives a fabulous performance. I believe that the story was complex while interesting and it moved quickly but not rushed. I can't wait to listen to the next book. I find Claws of Delight to ge a culinary delight!

Crab Cooking Contest & A Cozy Mystery

Claws of Death is a new cozy mystery featuring Jackie Norwood, a washed out celebrity chef. Jackie had an alcohol problem but is sober now and is in the process of getting her life back on track. She is invited to judge a crab festival in TX. To her surprise her nemesis Heather is also a
Judge along with the Mayor’s wife Erica. Jackie’s brother Daniel is there to support her. She also sees her old culinary school ex-boyfriend Benjy who is competing. At the first event Heather dies. Secrets are revealed and Jackie, Daniel, and Benjy all work together to find the killer and clear their names. This was an enjoyable cozy mystery with likable characters and although I suspected the culprit, I wasn’t sure until the end. I enjoyed the audiobook which was narrated by Anne
Marie Lewis. The character voices were unique and the story was easy to follow. I asked for and received an audiobook copy from Cathy Wiley for free and I voluntarily leave this review. #ClawsOf
