About this listen

In Rudolph, New York, it's Christmastime all year long. But this December, while the snow-lined streets seem merry and bright, a murder is about to ruin everyone's holiday cheer in the first Year-Round Christmas Mystery.

As the owner of Mrs. Claus's Treasures, Merry Wilkinson knows how to decorate homes for the holidays. That's why she thinks her float in the semi-annual Santa Claus parade is a shoe-in for best in show. But when the tractor pulling Merry's float is sabotaged, she has to face facts: there's a Scrooge in Christmas Town.

Merry isn't ready to point fingers, especially with a journalist in town writing a puff piece about Rudolph's Christmas spirit. But when she stumbles upon the reporter's body on a late night dog walk—and police suspect he was poisoned by a gingerbread cookie crafted by her best friend, Vicky—Merry will have to put down the jingle bells and figure out who's really been grinching about town, before Vicky ends up on Santa's naughty list . . .

This was a delightful cozy mystery with Christmas flair. I liked the characters and the town setting. The reader was excellent.

I like the book fine the story was OK. I feel like it’s a standard first book of a series. The narrator does the most abysmal job I have ever heard on a southern accent. The guy from New Orleans… I kinda wanted him to be the bad guy just so I didn’t have to hear him again in another book. I am from the South either learn to speak as we do, or don’t try.

Good luck, but some of the accents are not great.

If you want an easy, fun read dripping in Christmas, this is the perfect book for the season.

Fun and festive

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

Slow moving, too long (for the story) and the abrupt ending with the obvious villain was disappointing.

Certainly festive

I made it through the first 7 chapters and had to stop. Despite the murder, this story was slow and didn't center around the actual murder. Super disappointed .

Not for me

I only made it about two chapters. The southern accent made me grimace, but if I had to keep hearing the painful English one I think my ears may have started to bleed. I feel bad giving the Overall and Story one star because I was unable to listen and maybe they should have more than one, but I doubt it.

The awful accents.
