About this listen

The first wave was just the beginning....

The United States is in ruins. It has just suffered one of the worst hurricanes in history; the people are demoralized, and the president is a religious fanatic. Then things get really bad - the Clickers return.

Thousands of the monsters swarm across the entire nation and march inland, slaughtering anyone and anything they come across. But this time, the Clickers aren't blindly rushing onto land - they are being led by an intelligence older than civilization itself. A force that wants to take dry land away from mammals. Those left alive soon realize that they must do everything and anything they can to protect humanity - no matter the cost. This isn't war; this is extermination.

Everything You Want In Monster Movie

Monsters. Surprise. Gore. And easily hated idiot antagonists. This series should be made into movies yesterday. But this entertaining jaunt into lovecraftian horror makes car rides and long walks into adventures.

Ugghhhh!!! Politics!!!

I think a lot of us read to escape politics? Perhaps, reality in general at least for a while. I know I certainly read crappy monster stories for this reason. This one is rife with politics! Now that im invested in going to get the third.....I hope it is more enjoyable than this one was.

Male rape scene

The story is about the clickers and I just don't understand why the author just had to insert a Male rape scene? it's short and you may miss it . What value does it add to the story?

Loved it, but had a few stretches

Spoiler: How did the dark 1s know Washington DC was the US government center? I know they are supposed to be intelligent, but where did they get such information from? Also, how did they know about backup generators and how to disarm them? Being intelligent and having information from out of nowhere is not the same. Also, that administration and it's members were tf outta here lol. The president had no checks and balances, his advisors did nowhere near any advising. He said anyone who posts that story and refuses to stop will be executed. Sounds like some Amendments being violated to me and none of his people around him were like nah. Good series thus far, just a few things that weren't really believable, or shall I say, weren't explained well.

The best fan-fiction I’ve heard yet!

“You know that part in the horror movie where the main character does something really stupid and the audience hates them for it? This is it!”
Trisha Jenner - Jeepers Creepers.

Okay. That’s me communicating how I feel about this audio book with a quote from the all-time best B horror movie.
Ya’ follow?
I enjoyed this audio book more than many more main-stream horror/action books written by big name authors.

It was refreshing to have a male character face a terrible situation almost exclusively aimed at female characters.

Excellent narration by Chet Williamson, a man who can voice both male & female characters, with & with no accents, believably - and all without overacting. Hoo-ray!

CLICKERS II - Recommended. ( if you can stand some obvious goofy plot points )

More Clickers!

This book is great! It’s Clickers, but MORE. There’s more clickers, more dark ones, more gruesome monster action, and bigger, scarier stakes. It’s a worthy sequel that ramps up everything fun about the first one. I loved it and I’m definitely excited for the next one in the series (and everything else from the authors).

Great narrator. Meh story and politics.

Started off just fine, but devolved into politics. Story was pretty mindless and nothing new was really added. Not bad, but not a great addition.

Creature Feature

CLICKERS II by J.F. Gonzalez and Brian Keene may very well be my favorite of all the CLICKERS books. I will definitely be listening to CLICKERS III in the near future. Very pleased that Corossroads Press is making these available at Audible and that Chet Williamson did the narration.
