Publisher's summary

My name is Nadia, and I’m a shadow agent of the High Queen of the Elves.

I don’t have many friends, but I look after the ones I do have...and I pay my debts.

So when Hakon Valborg’s teenaged granddaughter Lydia is arrested for the murder of her computer science teacher, I agree to help.

But there’s more going on here than just murder.

Because an ancient enemy of both humans and Elves just might have taken up residence in Lydia’s high school....

A light fast-paced book

In eBook format, this series (Cloak Mage and Cloak Games) is a great light read with an engaging protagonist. I don't tend to be too critical of a very occasional copy-edit miss or small plot hole. The author calls himself a pulp writer and he's good at it. The plot of this specific book seemed a bit thin so I took away a star. I've read and enjoyed the next one BTW. l've enjoyed the audio books, as well. The narrator is OK in general. She does a number of voices well. I do find her accent for the protagonist a bit too 1950s New York movie gangsterish for a young woman from Wisconsin but that's a matter of interpretation.
Looking forward to listening to the next book.
