Publisher's summary

The Kincaid Family Christmas Reunion is threatened by murder....

Cold Snap is the seventh Lucy Kincaid Novel from New York Times best-selling author Allison Brennan.

All roads home

On his way home to San Diego, PI Patrick Kincaid takes a detour through San Francisco to check on the wellbeing of a family friend who's mysteriously been unreachable. What he doesn't expect is to be shot at before he can find out why attorney Elle Santana won't ask the police for help in finding a missing girl. Soon, he's on the run from both good guys and bad as he and Elle race to find the witness and take down a sweatshop run by a corrupt businessman with a penchant for violence.

Lead to dead ends

Newly sworn FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid can't remember the last time she spent the holidays with her whole family, but getting home by December 25 is proving to be a bit of a problem. A blizzard shut down the airports and she and her boyfriend Sean Rogan are stuck in a Denver hotel...with a dead body. And if that wasn't all, back in San Diego Colonel Kincaid ends up in the hospital, where an even greater danger awaits...a man with a vendetta who will kill anyone who gets in his way. This Christmas, the Kincaid family needs nothing less than a miracle to survive. And time is running out.

A must read

I enjoyed the way the author switched it. Multiple stories in one book. Each well written. I’m working my way through the series.

To many little stories in this book.

I had trouble with this book because it jumped from one story to the next. I like this author, but would prefer her to write one story, and save the next two for another book.

I couldn't get through this one. Horrid.. No investment in the characters, which were way too many.. I was lost.
waste of credit

This is not for mystery / thriller vetrans

A family who loves each other, sweetness oozing out of each line of communication, all involved in police / PI or FBI etc. All love each other and this nice loving family solves mediocre crimes - 3 in this one book while busy expressing love for each other. This is not meant for folks who like Micheal Connely. This is for people who want to grow out of Nancy Drew. I am stunned at the high ratting these series is getting.

Least favorite so far

Least favorite of the series so far but in the end it all comes together, in Kincaid fast pace fashion. Felt this was super random and a place holder and only 50% about Lucy and Seans story or even involving their characters. I did like the development of Patrick- but all the other new characters are annoying and make this book my least favorite. I strongly disliked the main female character in Patrick’s part of the book- Elle- infuriating, unrealistic, and just whiny that claims to be super independent but just starts a bunch of stuff on “her own” trying to fix stuff but ends up ruining everything. And she never owns any mistakes she just says “I can’t help it’s just the way i am! I’m strong and independent!” unlike Lucy and any other heroine - her character is oblivious to the chaos around her, oblivious to the pain of others trying to help her, oblivious the the list obvious things that make her part of story unrealistic, and claims she’s fighting for everyone but it just puts everyone in danger and she comes out unscathed. She almost ruined the entire book for me but just keep listening and her part passes.
Also- disliked like Lucy’s sisters- they are super selfish and nothing like Lucy and her brothers. Not the worst credit I have spent but didn’t want to skip a book . If you skip a book in series skip this One.
