About this listen

A second chance never looked so good....

Bobbi-Jo Barker has been in love with the wrong man for years - a man who doesn't fit into the perfect, controlled life she's created; a man who broke her heart and nearly destroyed her. So the fact that he's back in town shouldn't matter, because he's all wrong for her, or so she thinks....

Shane Gallagher, prodigal son, ex-con, and all around hellion, has returned to the small town of New Waterford not only to mend fences but to get his life back. What he doesn't count on are the feelings he still has for the one woman who can break him - the one woman who is totally wrong for him.

And yet, as Bobbi and Shane are thrown together and begin to navigate a life with each other in it, neither can deny the attraction they feel or the emotions that come with it - the good and the bad. And so the question becomes: Can these two damaged souls survive a second chance at love?

As part of a series, Collide is worthy of a listen. The first installment was better, and the backstory of those characters added to the current installment’s story to lift it into “average” territory.

I can’t say for certain I’d want to spend a credit on this, but luckily it’s part of the “plus” catalog.

Good story, worth a listen…

I heard one book by this narrator, and was so relieved to find someone with a pleasing voice!!! A narrator can make or break a book, and I have sensitive ears that reacts poorly to gross sounds like spittle popping, heavy breathing, etc. This narrator is literally worth her weight in gold!! Not my normal genre of story, but I would listen to her read the dictionary lol. I love listening to Audible books while working, so between this series being included in the Plus Catalog and the narrator being amazing... it's a perfect combination. 10 out of 10 recommend 😊

Listening just for the voice of the narrator.

When it ended I was like "is that it?" No epilogue? It just felt incomplete. Okay now I really wanted to know about Shane, how can you not, book one he was an awesome friend to Billy-Jo. Anyway, his story was a little bland. For me at this time, the sex felt overdone. On to book three, hopefully we'll get an update on Shane and Bobby.

Just okay...

Yes, back in 2012, I originally enjoyed this book, so when I saw the audiobooks available under the "audio escape" subscription, I was more than happy to revisit the Barker Triplets, and their madcap escapades.
We have Bobbi-Jo, the stay at home triplet, that had a relationship with the bad boy, Shane Gallagher, but had turned her life around. She was marrying the staid respectable, level headed, but dull man, that should give her the security she longed for.
Shane Gallagher had served his time and had come back, to work, to fulfill his parole commitment. To exorcise the demons of his past.
Fate had other ideas.
Great episode in a very good and entertaining series.

The second triplet's story.

Good story, love the MI setting and the hockey aspect. I’m not a fan of the long, drawn out “why we shouldn’t, could they do this?” over and over in every single chapter. Just get on with it already.

Good, but....

Love every book I’ve listened to so far! Great stories! Can’t wait to go on to the next book!

Great series!

This book was touching and showed the heartbreak that these two went through. The book has great supporting characters and is so well written that I could feel the emotions from the words. I highly recommend this book series and now im off to Betty's story.

Loved Bobbie's story

Well, there's more drama for the triplets here, especially for the featured triplet in the book. I must admit that the first two chapters did not sit well with me. While cold feet may be a legitimate reason, I still find it a selfish gesture considering that the only thing unlikeable about the groom is his luck of spunk. Anyway, I could get over it as this installment made a good companion during my packing and other chores that needed to be done at home, thus the shorter reading time.

I am not going to comment further about how I quickly predicted the conflict and the plot twists, but in a way, this is a compliment because at least it did not leave much room for me to think hard about the entire story. Add in the beautiful narration of Maxine Mitchell; this has been another excellent read from this author. And since there is a book and half left from the series to listen to, I might as well jump into the third one after this.

A predictable mix-up
