About this listen

Humans have been in the stars far longer than Van originally thought—and they've been busy.

Not every visitor to or from Earth has good intentions, and the Peacemakers are faced with an uncomfortable reality. The Earth is about to meet aliens. Some of the aliens are bringing goods to trade. And among those items are weapons.

When a secret cabal of humans who want to exploit the Earth is revealed, Van has to decide how and where to fight this threat. Along the way, he reveals a secret history that began in the Great War—and ends with mass chaos on his home planet.

Van won't let that happen—at least not without a fight, and to hold back the gears of war, he's going to need a lot of help. With Torina at his side, the crew faces a decision that will change the future of the stars themselves and challenge the Guild, the Earth, and the Equal Grasp as the universe gets smaller with each contact between humans and aliens.

How can Van manage the clash, save Earth, and deliver peace?

If he can, what will it cost him?

Sweet Sorrow.

What makes this series rise above the genre to the level of great literature is the courage and decency of the characters who stand against evil, willing to sacrifice their lives and fortunes for the common good. We live in a fallen, jaded world where evil flourishes at every turn; Van Tudor, the crew of the Fafnir and their stalwart allies present an old-fashioned model of valor and values worth living for. Add to that, a really insightful exploration into the subject of “first contact” and what that would look like in this era of deepfake and fake news. Many truly funny moments to relieve the dramatic tension. Another great listen!

One of the Better stories recently

I realize that this series is kind of a day in the life of the Fafnir crew and wanders all around but I felt this entry actually had a decent ending and didn't leave you hanging as some have in the past few years.

“Incandescent “

I love these books they’re well written and well performed I just wish they didn’t use the word incandescent to describe everything

Crew bound by love and respect.

Bonding of the crew. All different, but all the same. All looking for justice for all.

Still going strong.

It's difficult to keep a series this long entertaining. This book continues adding enough new elements and twists to keep me hooked. Several times I got in front of my PC and kept listening. My review strategy may be a bit bland, but it takes a lot to keep me from playing Fallout 76.

Justice finally catches up!

Nice to see the development from just a Peacemaker to now an Officer and leader of the troops. Both the joys and sorrows of your fellow Warriors. Well done! Would like to have found out more about how the Koniku honor their fallen Warriors and Hero's. Looking forward to more great tales of good and honorable peeps from every race and culture. Keep up the good work.
