To protect a terrified child, he seizes the strange weapon of a fallen hero—an ancient, sentient sword—and is catapulted far into the future with no way back.

Now trapped in an alien world, he must master the sword's mysterious power and navigate a deadly game of political intrigue. But time is running out for humanity. As the stakes rise and enemies close in from every corner of the galaxy, he faces one burning question: Can he find a way home in time to save everything he once knew?

Good story

The beginning took a while to settle and gain momentum and for the characters to become distinct.

Starblade will draw you in!

First thing…set the audio speed at 1.2…just trust me…
Some have said it’s slow to start…but the foundation that was laid at the beginning I really enjoyed…it is a great ride and left me wanting so much more!

It's A Great Hero's Journey of Internal Dialogue

First, you may not like the narration. It's interesting. I'm used to Mark Boyett, Jeffrey K. etc. BUT I think the narrator nailed the true tone that a UPS driver with depth would have if he was flung into the future and needed to learn how to wield a sword.

Second, the story line was the hero's journey the way I like. It's all about his internal dialogue as he grapples with the circumstances he's thrown into.

I think you need to be in the right mood to truly enjoy this book. There is times I want Backyard Starship type of dialogue and action and other times I want to ride along with the hero hearing his thoughts and wondering if I would react the same way.

I can't wait for the next book. And yes, I can't wait to hear this narrator again. :-)

Slow to start.

Not like other Chaney Moon collaborations. I’m glad I stuck with it. As expected it was very well written. The story definitely ramps up across the entire book. I cannot wait for the second book.

Just boring

Just boring and The MC is stupid. Earth gets invaded, humanity gets demolished by aliens. MC gets thrown 3000 years into the future and immediately works for the people responsible for killing off humanity. I finished it because I spend money on it, but it was a struggle to get through.

Slow start, fractured progression

The authors start with a Earth apocalyptic event, a MC thrust into future 3.5 millennial later and stumbling through 6 chapters with mostly inane dialog and inner turmoil trying to talk to his wonder sword/blade. The narrator comes across as an unbiased observer, speaking with little enthusiasm.

I was unable to finish the book.
