About this listen

Fall in love with a Lauren Blakely romance, which New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips calls “The perfect blend of sexy and emotional, with sparks and heat!”

Dog trainer Cara Bailey wants to find “the one,” but fantasizing about her sexy-as-hell client, firefighter Travis Jansen, is getting in the way. Her only option? Get the confirmed bachelor out of her system - in every position possible - so she can settle down with Mr. Right. Starting right now.

Travis doesn't do relationships, so no matter how badly he wants the pretty little brunette, he keeps his distance. Until Cara goes and changes the game. She'll fulfill all of his fantasies if he agrees to walk away when it's over. But when the wildfire between them blazes out of control, it will consume everything - and everyone - in its path....

Female narration was bad.

I had to skip chapters because the female narrator has a weird, breathy way of extending the last word of almost every sentence and it became so irritating I couldn’t listen to her. I enjoy Lauren Blakely’s writing and Joe Arden is one of my favorite narrators. I made it to the end of the book because of their skills.

Cute story- female narrator annoying

Enjoyed the story…. Not a fan of female narrator- like she is trying way too hard
The last word at end of every sentence sounds so forced- couldn’t get past it

Travis is one hot man!!

I think this may be my favorite in this series. Travis and Cara have been "the one" for each other since they were in high school. It just took several years, and reconciling their views based on past experiences for them to realize what they wanted was right in front of--on top of and under--them.

Travis and Cara bring out the best in one another, and it was so much fun watching them slowly come to that conclusion, and accept their fate. Lauren is such an amazing writer, and how she creates such gems is beyond me, but I give thanks every time I read something new from her.

Joe Arden and Erin Mallon own these characters, and I love when they pair up for a hot and dirty romantic tale.

Narrators

Storyline was ok but the narrators were a little lacking in the beginning. Got a little better towards the end.

Fun Story

This was a fun read up until the H was a complete and utter idiot. Like all of LB's books, there is a lot of heat, good banter and loveable characters. The dog is a fun part of the story as well.

Easily consumed by this story!

Lauren Blakely always gives me that feel good listen. This third book the Fighting Fire series is warm and funny with some realistic thoughts that we all have! Travis and Cara were high school sweethearts, but when it came to life after school, they both went their separate ways. Now with Cara back in town, these two have their feelings ignite again. Deciding to only be together for a good time while training Travis's dog, we have steam and passion but can feel the emotional tug from both sides. Can these two only be together casually? I love Blakely's writing, her characters always have that witty banter going back and forth as foreplay! These two are fun, full of humor and their chemistry is off the charts. The dog and the peanut butter...that just makes me laugh out loud while listening! And you certainly cannot go wrong with fire fighters!

Narrated by the talented team of Erin Mallon and Joe Arden, it's impossible not to get immersed into their lives and enjoy this couple. Given this dream team of voices, I thoroughly enjoyed their portrayal of the story and fell in love with Cara and Travis!

High school sweethearts get together again after years apart

Sweet, sexy romance about a firefighter who is distrustful of his feelings after loosing his father as a child and his former girlfriend who is a dog trainer and somewhat unsure of herself due to being adopted. Good narration performance by 2 pros could only have been better as a duet performance. Ending very predictable but pleasant storyline.
